He was certainly real and might still be around. Nobody claims to have seen him for years and the only possible contact is a few audio tapes that sound like Bin Laden, but are easily faked.
Do some research into him. People are telling you that Bin Laden is real because the towers came down. That's not exactly logical.
Bin Laden did speak about 9/11, so was around when it happened. He specifically denied being involved and stated it was against his faith. The "fat Bin Laden" 9/11 confession video that America saw was proven to be a fake by experts many years ago. Only the US doesn't seem to have been told. Here's some detail, but research it:
http://www.welfarestate.com/binladen/surprise/
The FBI has pretty much cleared Bin Laden of 9/11. He's no longer officially wanted for the attacks, because there hasn't been one item of credible proof linking him to it. Here's a media report:
http://www.twf.org/News/Y2006/0608-BinLaden.html
Here's the FBI most wanted poster for bin Laden. He's only wanted for the US Embassy attack, not 9/11:
http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/terrorists/terbinladen.htm
In addition, at least 9 of the 19 hijackers are alive today & know nothing about the attack. The FBI refuses to comment. Some of the men have asked the FBI if they could be upgraded from dead to alive, but the FBI isn't interested.
Here's a BBC link, as the BBC met some of them. All 9 men deny flying into a skyscraper at 500MPH and deny being dead;

http://thunderbay.indymedia.org/news/2002/12/2373_comment.php
It's recently been proven beyond doubt by leading scientists & forensic analysis, that WTC1/2 came down from a controlled demolition. High power explosives were set-up days before 9/11.

This isn't conspiracy or propaganda. It's scientific fact & everyone that sees the evidence knows it. Most people are afraid to look though.
Are you?

He's real. However, as long as he lives, the current administration can use the word 'terrorism'.
Bin Laden is the face of terrorism. You can throw names around, but very rarely is there a name so well known in all corners of the globe.
Now, imagine killing said person - the venerated leader of world terrorism - people would think the job is done, wouldn't they?
As long as bin Laden is alive, the name 'Al Qaeda' lives. As long as there is al qaeda, there is terrorism. As long as there is terrorism, there is war to be had.
I don't really think it's just about oil, per se. Iran has already shifted to the euro, and there were threats that Saddam would do the same. The dollar has been taking a beating.
Now, it's a question of whether all those countries sitting on U.S. long term bonds think they're worth *gold* as they did years and years ago - lately that's not the case. Countries eyeing those reserves are beginning to think that switching to the stronger euro isn't such a bad idea after all.
If that happens, bam! ridiculous inflation (where there is more printed money than the actual value of the dollar). In the U.S., the cost of everything goes up.
It's no secret Saddam was thinking about exchanging those ones for euros. China is thinking of unlinking its currency to the dollar.
America is a super power in decline - everyone knows it except the U.S.
We'll see how it goes. I wouldn't worry about oil too much though - there's bigger fish to fry. Mmm... fish...

Yes I think he is real, and most likely still alive.
To those who thought he died in 2000, that doesn't make any sense because in several of his tapes he has commented on media developments that no one could have foreseen four years before.
Bill Clinton took military action several time during his presidency, in Kosovo and against Iraq and was publicly criticized. Not for being too soft but for being too heavy handed. So Armygirl91 you're mistaken about that.
I think the 9-11 conspiracy stuff is bunk, and the statements that there is a scientific consensus is quite a stretch.
And again the oil bit doesn't really make sense. There is no indication that Saddam would not have traded with the US and that we really would have been able to get oil if we had really wanted to.
That however does not lead one back to wmds or nation building as the true causes. I think that the US was harmed and people wanted to act, they wanted to react, take vengeance. Harm others in the way that they had been harmed, we wanted an enemy a real tangible one- not some shape shifting transnational organizational network that was hard to pin down. Afghanistan wasn't good enough, people got tired of it quickly. Thus Iraq.

He is real. But he could be a scape goat to justify the continued war against Terrorism.
Bush has actually broken away from using Bin Laden as a scape goat by beginning to talk about his ideological battle, as opposed to a battle of vengeance.
Personally, I think Bin Laden died while he was suffering from his kidney infection back in 2000. But, then again, maybe he is just fine.
The U.S. should be searching in Baluchistan for him... there is no country called Baluchistan, but there are a people called Baluchistani, and they live around the Pakistani and Iranian border. Not to mention, the French had Bin Laden in their sights twice but didn't pull the trigger because the authorization to was not given by the Americans... which is weird.
Anyway, it's not just for oil - it's for political power too.

LOL. Tony Blair couldn't even keep himself up as a PM. I'd say Nicolas Sarkozy would make another Bush: Bad. A good one would probably be Mahatma Gandhi. If he were still alive, of course.

The Bin Laden family is real. They are an Arabian family with extensive oil wealth and business partners of the Bush family. Osama Bin Laden was certainly real. He was a CIA agent working in Afghanistan when it was occupied by Soviet forces. We don't know whether he heads an international terrorist organisation called Al Qaeda, or if this is just a story to save the American people from democracy. Why do the bombs only fall in the prole areas?

Well, if they are a figment of someone's imagination, then blowing up the World Trade Centre, and the London transport system is a pretty sick way of doing it. No, I think he's very real, in the same way as the deaths of the victims were very real.

Just about the most stupid question I have heard this year. Have you not seen his hate broadcasts? Have you not seen the many pictures of him being held aloft by his followers. Even his own family have denounced him. Of course he is real. You come on here with your ridiculous notions about the troubles in the Middle East yet you know nothing. Do your research and come back when you have something worthwhile to contribute.
