I just got a job as a Police Cadet, which I'm really excited about. I havn't started yet, because I am going through an intense background investigation. Since I have to pass that first, and then pass a polygraph test, the job is not 100% yet...although I know it will be. So, I havn't asked anyone at the police department about the details of my job and what I would be doing everyday. All I know is what they posted online..."process evidence, type reports, answer phones, and do other jobs which sworn in officers do not have the time to do." I doubt that I'll be working in the field, because they would have mentioned that, and besides, they never asked about my physical ability in too much detail. Buuuut, if you think about just the title of the job... "Police Cadet", it sounds like I would probably wear a uniform! The position is not called Office Assistant or anything along that line.
So, do you think I will be wearing a uniform? I kinda would like to...it's sexy!!!

Yes. Most people in a police cadet position are potential future applicants as police officers. They are also doing some menial administrative functions that are law enforcement related. If cadets have public contact, a uniform lets citizens know that they are serving in some official capacity.

You will probably be wearing a uniform, but not the same color of a sworn officer. If the sworn officers wear blue, you may wear brown, or a light blue.
