Because the Body is the temple not a building! Besides that; last time I visited my home church they didn't seem very excited to see me! I look alot different and that could be because I'm somewhat taking better care of myself than I used to. Seems like that would even make them happier! Why would people treat you like a stranger when you have visited your home church for the first time in a couple of years? Surely they recognized who I was! I look alot better than I used to, but they should have known it was me! I'm not a church hopper. I don't believe in going from church to church and so on. I mean I know your always gonna run into problems but hey! Did Christ go where people rejected him?

People may be sinful by nature. But how does someone expect the church to grow if they run people off? No; thats not exactly scripture but common sense! That makes about as much sense as inviting someone to my house and ignoring them. These people are a disgrace to the gospel.

And if someone is confronted for their behavior It's like God will send a bolt of lightining down from heaven and kill you. I don't think God is like that. I think not only does he want us to refrain from sins like drinking and drugs and stuff like that. But he also wants us to treat each other with love and compassion. If you create animosity in the church its never a good thing! I know I have a grudge. But Can I blame myself? Their human and so am I.

Dear guitarman,

The church age ended in 1988. If you read 2 Thessalonians 2, you will find that the Holy Spirit has departed from ALL the local churches. Therefore, there is no possibility of salvation there, reagardless of the accuracy of the preaching. In theat same chpater of 2 Thessalonians you will see that satan is now ruling in ALL local congregations and those that remain there are being sent a strong delusion so that they may be damned. Please read Matthew 24:15, 16 which also is a proof text. In Revelation 18:4 the Lord gives a command to the True Believers to come out of the churhes. As you read the chapter you will find that the voice of the Bridegroom (Christ) is no longer heard in the local congregations. Neither is the voice of the Bride (True Believers) is heard any more in the churches because they have become Babylon--the dominion of satan. For more info see my references......

Your body is a temple... but Church is the place where Christians can come together and be the Body of Christ, and it fulfills the function of the family in a spiritual sense: God the Father, Mother Church (either the institution or the building itself) and your brothers and sisters in Christ. It might not be easy to come back into the family-- it might not be easy to be there at all-- but stick with it. Being Christian does not make our lives painless, but it does give us a place to find strength: the Church in Christ. Keep trying!

God's peace.

Yes, it's true, the body is the temple, but Jesus did say to go to Church on the sabbath. Maybe trying a new church would help.
I can tell you from experience, there are a lot of churches that aren't very nice people, but it's still necessary to go!

Jesus the Christ went to the temple often. For a body of believers is stronger than any single person. Personally, I am non-affiliated and attend different denominations at different times. Some have a more God centered attitude than others. A Blessed Christmas to you.

Hi Guitarman, I know how you feel and it is all to easy for people to tell you that it doesn`t matter if you are welcomed or not,of course it matters,we know that we should come together as Gods people to worship Him but a cold atmosphere does not say very much about Christian joy.

Of course Christ went where people rejected him. They killed him didn't they. He was rejected by leadership in Rome as the messiah and they put him to death mocking him the whole time as the king of Jews. Saying if you are the King save yourself. He was obviously rejected by many who He told his prophecies to. Those that doubted him like Thomas also rejected him.

Yes Christ did go places where he was rejected, because he felt that people being saved was far more important than him being rejected. The bible says he was not even accepted in his own town.

You are supposed to be going to church to worship God. Don't worry about what people think of you. Your not even there for yourself, your there for God.
