I agree with KJ, 8 weeks. Between 6-8 weeks is "play" and "social" time for the puppies. Also, at that age, they should have had their first set of shots. You will also be able to tell the new owners if they have allergies to shots (mother had 2 puppies allergic to the puppy shots...they have to have a benedryl(sp) before they can have their shots for the rest of their lives).

Good breeders keep their puppies until 8-10 weeks of age. This gives time to be vet checked, get their first set of shots and deworming. Also, puppies should not be separated from their mother and littermates before then. Before six weeks of age, puppies are dependent on their mother. After six weeks they can be weaned and fed puppy food but still need their littermates. They learn to play together, share, and interact with others. If they are separated too early, they could develop temperment problems later in life. During these weeks, the puppies should not only learn how to socialize with other pups, but preferably children also. Paper training can be started during this time as well. In many states it is actually against the law to allow a puppy to leave the litter before 8 weeks. The reason some people give away puppies before then is because puppies are alot of work. This is truly a shame because people who aren't willing to put in the appropriate time to care for the pups just shouldn't breed. Good luck and take good care of those pups!

No earlier then 8 weeks, but I would say not until 10-12 weeks.
Feb. 5 would be 8 weeks. Feb. 19- March5 would be 10-12 weeks.
Weaned is when the pups are no longer dependant on mom to feed them. Keep in mind though, that even if a pup is weaned at 7 weeks, it still needs to be around mom a little longer for social reasons. Mom can teach a lot in those couple weeks about acceptable behavior.

Well they should be weaned. That is about 8 weeks. So whatever 8 wks from the 11th would be how many days you have left. I don't want to do the math. I'm not good at it.

Well I would be careful taking a GSD from a non-reputable breeder. If he was one he would wait until the pup was 8 weeks old my vet said 7 weeks was the earliest but 8 was recommended that allows enought time with mom and other pups yet still allows you to socialize you pup during the critical period. Some breeders think 9 weeks is good too mine was about 8 1/2 weeks when I got her.

I volunteer at an animal shelter fostering puppies. I am not allowed to adopt them out until they are 8 weeks old but what would be better for the puppies is probably finding homes at about 10-11 weeks old. Hope this info helps!

The puppies should be at least 8-10 weeks old before being given away. At around 6 weeks you should start feeding them puppy chow with warm milk (specialty pet stores), and start weaning them from their mother.

You have to wait AT LEAST 59 more days!!! They are not even 2 wks old. NEVER before 8 wks, so the 59 days + the past 11 days (equals 60 days, two months).
Weaned means that they can eat and drink on their own -- totally -- do not have to nurse on mom anymore.

You must wait at least 8 wks. before giving the pups away. What kind of pups are they? They must also be dewormed, and whened away from the mother. Hope your aunt just doesn't give them to just anyone. Please help her to screen the people she is giving the pups to so you will know if they are getting a good home. There are too many stray dogs in the streets now. Good Luck.
