If you want the "I just came from the beach" curls.....take a spray bottle and put some salt in the water. Spray your hair down, and then let it air try. If you want more of a solid curl. Buy and extra large curling iron (one with a wider diameter).

First Off - shampoo & condition with a nice professional moisturizing s&c. Naturally curly/wavy hair tends to be a bit dry (hence the poof). My guess is that a mousse isn't going to be strong enough to tame the poof - I'd go with a nice creme based product- usually called "curl defining"- Redken, Kenra, & Grund all make good curl defining cremes. Apply this product to towel dried hair. Grab a hair dryer with a "cool shot" (cold button), add a diffuser - scrunch hair and lay onto diffuser blowing cool air - and dry. It will take a bit longer using the cool setting - but it's the heat from the dryer that makes frizzy curls - using cool will take care of that. Once you are dry finish up with a nice pump hair spray - this will further help tame the frizz and make it last all day. If it's "falling" by the end of the day try an aresol hairspray instead- but start with the pump. Hope this helps!

Do you have a curling iron? If you do, this is what I do. Shampoo, towel dry, put on some smoothing cream, brush and let dry naturally. When almost dry, use a hair dryer to dry the rest of the way.

Then use your curling iron (the smaller the barrell the better). Take small strands of hair, curl and then spray each curl with hair spray as you do them.

Once your whole head is done, lightly shake and you have gorgeous, curls that will stay put.

There are several brands of shampoo that say they will enhance a curl in your hair (although I have not personally tried them) -

Wash n' Curl
Got2b Curling Shampoo
Nutra Care

There are also some gel and mouse products that enhance curls. I have tried the Studio Line Pumping Curls gel, and it worked really well! My hair was about shoulder length, and I would run the gel through my wet hair, then blow dry upside-down while scrunching my hair with my hands. It gave such curls, I almost had an afro of sorts!

Take extreemely small peices of hair and curl them with a curling iron.....it works really nice.....but you have to have a lot of patience because it doesn't take 5min.......just remember small sections.*

My hair is naturally wavey. After I wash and comb it out, I scrunch it up while it's still wet and apply some hair gel and let it dry (don't blow dry it). The waves will look curlier and fuller.

use a curling tong!

my hairdresser suggested to me to wash my hair, but not to use conditioner, as it keeps the curls in longer!

then dry my hair upside down for body, then tong the hair all over!
