It has been around for 2000 years, yet, it seems that the world despises the Catholic church for not allowing gay-marriage, abortion, contraception, etc., as a result, throughout history, many have broken away to start their own denominatons. Can you blame the Catholic church for upholding God's law instead of the world's desires?

2 tim. 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires."

The official position of the Catholic Church is that its human traditions and papal decisions are more important than the bible itself. As former adherents learn details about the differences between Catholicism and true Christianity, they feel betrayed.

Consider one matter unique to Catholicism that simply cannot be reconciled with bible truth... Of all the Christian religions on earth, how many forbid their ministers from marrying?

(1 Timothy 4:1-3) The inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; 3 forbidding to marry

The Catholic Church is not hated more than Baptists, Protestants or any other Christian denomination. God's Word is hated by some people in general. Satan is really busy lately in case you haven't noticed. Personally, I am an ex-Catholic. I don't hate the Church but I don't agree with some of its rituals and practices. The general belief of God's law is the same throughout Christianity though. I do believe that the one true Church of God is His people, not a name of a religion.

Merry Christmas.

This is what a non-Catholic friend of mine has said over time: 1) they believe we worship Mary 2) they don't believe in saints 3) they don't believe in the sacrament of confession because sins are to be confessed directly to God 4) they don't believe we should be praying to anyone but God 5) they don't believe the Pope is the leader of all Christians.

There's probably a lot of other reasons that I'm not aware of. Once I attended a Baptist church with a friend & couldn't believe my ears when the minister used Catholics as examples of sinful people! In all my 60 yrs I have never once heard one priest preach against any other religion.

I have a friend who says we don't need to because we know who we are whereas other Christians have to explain why they AREN'T Catholic.

Ha, I've had "Bible" only Christians attempt to use this passage to show how the Catholic church was evil.

No, you can't be surprised when the Holy Churches (in the spirit of ecumenism you should include the Orthodox as well) are assaulted by those who want a "low cost" salvation. It's the oldest trick in the book. Compromise morality for the sake of attendance (money).

Some one has said that real christians do not hate the catholic church i disagree 100 percent if you are a real christian you will indeed hate and despise the Catholic church they are leading millions to hell and have done so for many years.
The simple truth is they are satan church a cult of his kingdom and have nothing to do with God at all.
The gosple is Jesus is the gosple of peace and the good news. That good news being that we have a high priest in the person of Jesus Christ who has offered himself up one for the sins of all people. And he is a christians only priest before God making right the prayers of all who pray unto the father. Thus doing away with any earthly priesthood. We of the faith have also be made priest with him. The whole of our salvation does not rest in the word of a earthly priest who is a sinner and who is not recieved by God it rest in the person of Jesus Christ alone. For he alone can come into the presents of God to offer up our pertitions and he alone can apply his blood to our pertitions as he alone has earned that right. It is be faith and faith alone that we come to salvation and that not of itself but of his will.
The pagan teaching of the catholic is that Christ is not the redeemer and that his blood has not atoned for the sin of his followers. In effect they denounce the finished work of the cross that our Lord Jesus suffered and was slain to complete. The catholic priesthood declares them at the one meditator between heaven and earth and then proverts every word of God. This is the logic of satan. This is the great harlet of revelation and the place of the anit-christ. The catholic even teach there people to pray to the dead. Deuteronomy 18:18-12 calls this a detestable thing. The catholic church promote idols and mary worship both denounced by God. The catholic promotes living a life of works slavation a thing which is against the blood of christ and again the word of God. The catholic church promotes priest being holyer then the sheep of the flock and this is pure hersey and the priest conduct is a reflection of the beast with in the priest of the catholic church. The catholic church promote indulges and also has created a mas in which they declare that wine and bread are turned into the actual blood and flesh of christ and that each time you administer it you put christ to death on the cross anew. Yeat that is not what is said in the scripture of hebrews or romans.
So do we indeed love the people YES. But we detest the beast and his harlet.

I do not hate the catholic church, as you say. I do not follow their religion, because they do so many things that are against God! They keep idols, when Jesus said that idolaters would have their place in the lake of fire. They believe in limbo, where your soul could linger if you were not quite good enough to enter heaven. What a crock! That is NOT Biblical ! They confess to a man, which gives an act of contrition to perform for the forgiveness of that sin. ( I used to be catholic. All my father's side of the family is catholic.) You cannot accept an act of contrition for the forgiveness of a sin. Christ died on the cross and paid the price for ALL sins, so that no man could boast - it is by God's GRACE that we are saved! A priest cannot forgive sin, anyway - only God can do that! They pray the rosary, which is repetitious prayer. Jesus said NOT to pray in vain repetition, as the heathen do - thinking they will be heard for their much speaking! They pray through Mary. Wrong again! Mary has NO power in heaven, and CANNOT intercede for us. Only Jesus can do that! Not Mary. Not the saints. Jesus. Period. It sounds to me like the scripture you quoted is meant FOR the catholics. Been there, was that. I now worship God in spirit and truth. NEVER saw a catholic full of the Holy Ghost. Not even the pope. Sorry, you ain't it.

I believe it was Archbishop Fulton Sheen that said ""There are not over a 100 people in the U.S. that hate the Catholic Church, there are millions however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church", and that pretty much sums it up.

People think they know all about the Catholic Church because someone told someone who heard it from someone that. . .

We are really not very different than any other Christian faith, we believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Many take exception to our praying to saints for their intercession, our admiration of Mary the Virgin Mother of Chirst, and our stance - as a Church - on all pro-life issues, on the issue of keeping family values (against gay marriage) and other issues that go against the teaching of Jesus Christ.

I wish that those who hate the Church would take a moment and examine their beliefs and compare them to those that the Catholic Church holds. I am sure they would see the Light.

The Catholic church was created as a fit to rule church by Constantine the emperor of Rome. It was a Lie from the beginning. It was made to FORCE the roman republic to believe in the one god and just in one god. It was set up so that people were FORCE fed the doctrines according to Constantine and to rule by the laws of Rome.
The Catholic church was charged with the RE-Legion of the Roman empire and did so under the laws of Rome. It killed the those that refused it. It enslaved those that refused it. It supported slavery, rape, disfigurement and Racism.
Entire peoples and faiths died because of the Catholic Re-Legion.
Catholicism was the Original PAGAN belief.
The Pope controlled the rule of law and was harsh and cruel in it's carrying out that law.
Catholicism is based in cruelty and savagery. Even today it still rules with insane cruelty. Nuns destroy children. Priests rape children and By Roman Law they are not punished by the laws of man but corrected within the church. Priests, Nuns, Bishops, Cardinals and the POPE are above the law.
There is your esteemed Catholic Church.
Catholics stole doctrine from other faiths. They hold religious writings in the Vatican that will Never see the light of day. They stole art and stole wealth that will never be returned to the countries or faiths raided by Crusaders.
There is a warning written in the Shanic texts that says
" Beware the cross and those who will wear it. Beware the Gareth and Harold that wears the cross. With them comes doom to free minds and blessed hearts. With them comes death."
Gareth means spear bearer. Harold is a priest.
The texts and all of the followers that were home and in fields were killed enslaved or stolen by the crusaders.
There is your catholic church. Enjoy.

I do not hate the Catholic Church. But I am disappointed when Catholics think that they are better Christians than Protestants. I think it is what is in your heart that matters. I think that this is how we will be judged.
The first Protestant churches (1500s) came into being because the people did not want the bible to be in latin. They translated it into English & German. They were almost murdered for doing so. Many were assaulted. This is what I find upsetting.
