The inspector asks him a few questions
"what would you do if 2 trains were heading towards one another on the same track
"well said Tom" i would switch one train to another track.
"but what if the lever was broken said the inspector,
"well i'd run down to the tracks and use the manual lever" said Tom
"What if it had been struck by lightening"
"well i'd run back up here and use the phone to ring the next signal box"
"what if the phone was busy"
In that case i'd run to the street and use the public phone"
"what if that had been vandalised"
Oh in that case i would run and get my Uncle Leo"
Why" asks the inspector puzzled
"because he's never seen a train crash"..............
