really depends on what job you want to do, and if you want to ravel alot. personally i was in the army, but other family members were navy.the navy does see alot of the world, but the army has more hands on in some regards.its really up to you as to what branch you want.ignore the idjits that hate america, and the people that serve her. many people are grossly misinformed about todays military.to the dumbass that calls us criminals, you are truly clueless, and probaly just sore that the responder couldnt get accepted. truth of the matter isalmost all soldiers are h.s graduates, and a few have g.e.d's. the criminals that made it in were under clinton. the military also helps you with continuing education ( i.e college ) and encourages you to do so. so ignore the naysayers, theyre idiots and should be deported. talk to the recruiters, talk to people that are in the branches your considering, and it may be possible to try the life for a lil bit and see if you like it

Why not give a recruiter a call to find out information? Learn about what the navy offers and the army. Don't let these losers who say you can do something else deter you, I served my country.

Research all the branches, including the National Guard, Reserves and the Coast Guard. Find what interests you and talk with all of them. See who has what fits you best.
Don't let people push you into anything or talk you out of anything. I'm glad to see young people making an informed and conscious choice to serve out country. And for the record, most of the jobs in the Military are done outside of Iraq & Afghanistan.
Good Luck to you

It depends on what you want to do. The Navy would be less physical, in most instances, with less combat action. he Army would be a bit more physical, with more opportunity for exposure to combat.
You can see a list of enlisted and officer Navy opportunities at:
http://www.navy.com/careers/?campaign=pds_YAHSEA_navy_job_TXT_YAHSEA_navy_job&OVRAW=navy%20job%20ratings%20merger&OVKEY=navy%20job&OVMTC=advanced
Army Opportunities at:
http://www.army.com/enlist/job-categories.html
A bit of advice, the Navy fields offer more Civilian opportunities. I left the Navy after 14 years of enlisted service in logistics and have enjoyed jobs as an Inventory Manager, Research & Development Manager, and Production Manager. Of course, get a degree while you are in, to back up your experience when you get out.

people are ignorant these days, join the Army and be one of the brave who are out there in Iraq, your country needs you. Freedom does not come free. What's happening in the Middle east is not good and if we fail, we will live the rest of our lives being afraid that they'll attack us again.
Todays youth is just ignorant and doesn't even give a damn that their country is in danger. What happened to the WW2 era?? Those brave men fought hard and we owe it to them.

It all depends on what you want to do. Personally, I'm afraid of bullets, and don't run fast, so I'd join the Navy. Besides, Navy's got better toys.

Since you can't spell "navy," you'd better join the army.

Don't throw yourself into Iraq. I'm sure there are at lest 1,000,000 better things to do in this world then go waste time in Iraq. That's not to disrespect your courage and patriotism, but really, don't join right now because you know where they'll send you.
