I get so frustrated at people who abuse animals. And I wish I had the power to help these people! To help them understand and see how unfair it is! I know animals don't have the same intelligence as humans because God wanted it that way. But I still think that he cares about them and he has to hate see them being abused the way many are. After all...he created them. If I create something and someone destroys it, I am going to get mad and it will hurt me. God is the same way. I know he allows humans to suffer...but do you think he allows these innocent animals to feel any pain? I mean after all...we're here as punishment but what about animals? What insights do you all have on what the Bible says about animals?

To clear up somethings:
First and foremost...I am not saying eating animals is wrong. Not at all. What I'm referring to is things like...dog fights, cruelty in animal farms, animals being killed for their fur, etc. God put animals on earth for us to EAT. Where I want something from the Bible is to back me up when I say that he didn't put them here for them to be our money makers and on top of it all for us to Abuse them the way many people do.
Secondly, people open your Bible. We are here as a punishment for Adam & Eve taking the Apple. I wish I had my Bible on me to quote the exact scripture. But yes people...we are here as punishment. I do see my life as the greatest gift God has ever given me. I treasure it like nothing else. I don't see it as a punishment but that is what it is...when God comes again and restores the earth...everything will be perfect....like it was meant to be in the beginning.

Take it as you will. But to me...this life that includes pain and evil...IS PUNISHMENT compared to being able to live in the Presence of God from the very beginning.
Khno....I didn't say I accepted the suffering of humans...read through before you go off on something.

I'm an animal lover too and I get very upset when I see animals abused. To me if someone hates animals, there's something wrong with them. I've had friends say "a good dog is a dead dog". That really upsets me. I have five dogs.
God put Adam in charge of the animals, to name them and to watch over them. The Israelites had strict laws on how they treated their animals. They had to show respect. If they were to sacrafice a lamb, they were not to boil it in it's mothers milk, that would be cruel. Look how loving the shephers were with their sheep.
The animals were not punished because of what man did, but after the flood, God did allow man to eat meat and the animals also began to eat meat. The bible does promise that the time will come when it's back to the way it was originally. At Isaiah 11:6-9 says "And the wolf wil actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well-fed animal all together, and a mere boy will be leader over them. And the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down. And even the lion will eat straw just like the bull. And the sucking child will certainly play upon the hole of the cobra, and upon the light aperture of a poisonous snake will a weaned child actually put his own hand. They will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea."

I'm not a God person but if I were I'd think that the animals are here for a reason, even if one of the reasons they exist is for humans/other animals to eat them. I think God would love animals and would definitely have a problem with anyone who purposely or carelessly inflicted pain upon them. It would show that the person lacked the respect they should have for a being that can feel pain that God created. In a way, it may be a test of a person's compassion.
Jews have many reasons for Kosher slaughtering of animals but one is about the importance of avoiding unnecessary suffering of the animal. They believe it's immoral to get pleasure out of creating any kind of suffering. I can agree with that.

Well, according to the Jews (whose holy books parallel the old-testament fairly closely) animals have spirits and are to be afforded certain rights and courtesies (those courtesies are what kosher cooking is all about). So by those standards, animals should be afforded at least some rights.
In the Bible, Adam was charged with stewardship/dominion over the Earth, the plants, and the animals. That is part of what the whole "Adam naming things" was about. Possessing the Name of something = Having power over it (that's why God never told Moses his name, saying merely: "I am that which is" or "I am the Lord Thy God").

If you go threw the Bible,God says that He is even watching a sparrow. He describes us as sheep in lots of Psalms.I do not see were He suggests that we take care of animals any differently then we would of anything else that He so graciously bestowed upon us.These are to enjoy with our eyes. Please though be reminded of the many parrables that are in the Bible that clearly suggest sacrificing of lambs and sheep. No one of course should be abusing animals or humanes. We are the creations of God the Father we are made in His likeness,I do not see anything in there about any animals being of equal value. My question to you is how far do you want to take this?I mean it seems that alot of our food products contain animal ?Are you a veggin

Let me get this straight:
You get upset at people who abuse animals because they are innocent (or stupid, due to their lack of intelligence) and God gets made when his creations are hurt and destroyed.
Yet, you accept the suffering of humans (and their possible destruction) without a second thought?
"Are not two sparrows sold for next to nothing? Yet not a single sparrow falls to the ground without your father's knowledge....You are worth more than a flock of sparrows." Matthew Chapter 10
If you cannot see the value of a sparrow's life, how can you value the life of something even greater? If you allow for the suffering and destruction of something greater, how will you save what is considered the least?

This is a place where the notion of "soul" does the most harm. Human beings are animals. Animals are not to be harmed any more than human beings are, and invoking the notion of a "soul" to justify mistreating animals is as evil as anything that I know.
Anyone who would deliberately mistreat animals is not to be trusted at all. Keep your children away from that person, keep your friends away, don't trust that person with your money, your reputation, or your faith.

I agree, God gave us animals as a sort of gift, to help us survive. We don't abuse other gifts that he gave us do we?
However, as far as animal testing goes, I think that if killing and researching an animal can save human lives, then go ahead.
But abusing is just like rape, murder, assault, it's just a part of evil humans.

If you actually believe that we're on this earth as punishment why not just believe that the animals are here as punishment too.
I hope you can find a more positive and life affirming belief.

i agree with you but why you have to judge what is fair and what is not with measure what God wants..? it so unfair for the animals that you say ''But I still think that he cares about them and he has to hate see them being abused the way many are. After all...he created them'' ..So if God did not care about them then you wouldn't care too? that's what you saying right now...!

The only possible explanation, if you have the courage to accept what a consensus of the smartest people on the planet have determined, is that god does not exist.
ps What did you do that you think you are here as punishment?
