I am gay myself and I was just wondering if in religions like Hinuism if being born a homosexual was a punishment for doing something bad in a previous life?

I am not Hindu but believe in reincarnation. First of all, homosexuality is not a punishment or a curse, it is another challenge. I believe that we come back to life over and over again until our spirit views enough descriptions of the world. The descriptions are to teach us lessons through challenges, not to punish us. In fact, punishments are just another challenge too.

I'm not Hindu, I'm Pagan, and believe in reincarnation. No, being born gay has nothing to do with past life things. You're born gay because of certain organs in your mammalian brain. That's all. It's like being born left-handed. Blessed be.

I have heard of one theory (don't know what religion) that says, GLBTs are actually people who are not complete in their cycle of life. Saying that people of that community are low spiritually, and the heterosexual females are the highest. I personally do not agree. I have a theory that when it comes to homosexuality and other lifestyles in general, are just lives you live to learn how it is like to be that person and that you are no more or no less spiritual or religious than others. Basically you through this cycle, with different genders, religions, races, sexual orientations, etc to learn different points of view. Personally I think someone who has lived a long time and learned multiple lessons from different p.o.v.'s are more spirtually mature than people who haven't.

I also have a theory that hostile evangelical Christians, and fundamentalists Muslims are young souls.

I believe in reincarnation. I don't know about Karma. I tend to believe that our sexuality is physical in nature.

I think that when we choose to come here we have a specific purpose in mind. There is some lesson that we need to learn. Maybe you chose to be gay for some reason. Maybe you were a homophobe in your last life. Just kidding. Either you chose to be gay, or you were just born that way. What do you think?

I'm a Pagan, most of us believe in Reincarnation. Personally, I do not believe it's a punishment at all. It's just another part of life as a whole. *Smile*

Hinduism is not Narrow minded.
It does not have a uniform code of rules.
There are only five rules/commandments - starting with; Thou shall not.......
The meaning of Karma is that you suffer or are rewarded in
this life while you are alive.
If I pinch myself the consequence is pain.
If I steal I go to prison -or suitable punishment.
If I feel being gay is wrong I feel guilty and suffer in my conscience -if i do not consider it a sin then my conscience is clear. The Hindu god does not judge, but allows my consciousness to judge me.

It is not a punishment, it is a sin.

The Chinese concept of Yin Yang is also a central Hindu concept. Man can only understand himself better if he is united (emotionally, sexually, physically) with a woman because only then is the healthy universal balance achieved.

No offense dude. But if your gay, please don't even think of going near my religion. We don't want rubbish like you.
