I just started taking my three and a half month old son to a sitter full time. We have only taken him there for three weeks. Yesterday they gave him a little Pooh stuffed animal for Christmas. Should we give them a Christmas bonus or gift? If so, how much? I'm not sure what the ediquette is for this.

A gift card to Target would be a nice thing. You've only been taking your son there for a few weeks but prehaps a $20.00 gift card to Target or a $10.00 gift card to Starbucks would be appreciated.

Totally depends on you and your financial situation. But, if you trust her enough to take your son there and you plan on doing so for many years to come then a small gift is worth the price to not have to worry about whether you did the right thing or not. Remember too that this person is helping you raise your son...it's not a baby sitter that you use on occasion. We were in your exact position a few years back and went with a gift card to a local restaraunt. We now consider our day care provider family and are glad we made the effort from day one to treat them that way.

I once recieved a $25 Jamba juice gift certificate and it was great to be able to use it 5 or 6 times. I'd do this or Starbucks or something, so the sitter can use it a few times for a little treat.

I gave 50 bucks to ours, but she has been watching my daughter for 2 years. Maybe a nice christmas ornament or a gift card?

damn that would be nice of you but not required you can just bake her something or buy her/him something that they could use just to pamper themselves. I am a babysitter and I dont a bonus and dont look for them either.......good luck MERRY CHRISTMAS
