This is how I proposed:
(Not necessarliy the road to go though)
Took a cruise to the Caribbean. Dropped on one knee when it was about sundown. And asked there.
However, the cruise- not a good idea. Too many people around for the fun romantic things that a couple like to do.

Make it mean something to the two of you. My fiancee's proposal was a disaster. He took me to a restaurant neither of us had ever heard of and we ended up in the ghetto. Then, he tried to make me get out of the car at Niagara Falls, although it was cold out and I wasn't wearing a jacket. It just didn't work out and he ended up proposing at home.
I later asked him, "Why didn't you take me to the restaurant at the Hyatt? I always tell you I want to go there." And, he said, "Duh! I should have thought of that!"
So, the lesson here is that you really need to think about what she likes, where she would want to go and what she has mentioned in the past. Does she have a favorite restaurant? Is there somewhere she always wanted to go but hasn't been able to?
None of us can give you the answers because the key is to do something that reflects your personalities and your relationship.

Think about to whom you are proposing and what would be romantic. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with getting down on one knee, hold the ring out, look straight into the eyes of the love of your life and speak from the heart. Nothing is more romantic.

Make it something that reflects who U R as a couple. For example, my husband proposed at Disneyland cuz that's where we met, and we go all the time! The proposal even had reference to Mickey and Minnie and Jack and Sally. It was perfect!

Don't listen to any of us. Look deep inside and figure out how YOUR GIRLFRIEND would want to be proposed to. My fiance decided to wait ( I knew he had a ring) and propose after we flew from NY to CA. I took him to Disneyland for his 35th bday and as soon as we got there he whisked me over to the castle and proposed by Snow Whites Grotto. I was surprised and he got the tearful reaction he was looking for. He knew the only thing that mattered to me about the proposal was that it be a surprise and I'm hard to surprise. Think about things you and she like doing together. Is there a place you like to picnic or do you like going to the racetrack? Every woman is different and every proposal is different. Make hers something special and something she'll remember for the rest of her life, even if it is climbing a tree in your yard where it's just the 2 of you.

He waited WAY TOO LONG, till I thought it was never going to happen (five years and a kid later) and then set me up to believe that we really didn't have much money for a good valentines day, so we just went out for dinner at a family restaurant, then when we'd gotten home he had decorated our room with balloons and streamers from the dollar store (thought THAT was my surprise present, thoughtful and inexpensive, and I loved it cause I'd really thought dinner was it) and then after enjoying our evening together, when it was really late, he popped the question. Bawled my eyes out! Never thought it was going to happen. DEFINATELY not that night anyways! He had done such a good job convincing me that it was going to be a nice, inexpensive night and then that! Loved it!!!!

For more of a private proposal
In bed together as your cuddling....or underneath the stars.
Public
In your cities plaza area in the snow
or the cliche kind that's in a restraunt.
Or think up some creative things.

Use your imagination. Anything you do will be romantic. One thing that was special when I was proposed to was that he asked both sets of my parents for permission first. Everyone knew but me, so after he asked me, everyone was waiting for the phone call with the answer! Don't fret too much about it though. Have fun and good luck!!!

You should defintely take the person to the place where you first met, went on a date or something of that nature- then tell the person how you felt about them then ( hopefully it was good), and then tell them how you feel about them now. Then of course get down on one knee and tell them how you want to spend the rest of your life with them if they'll have you. :)
