It is called "thrush"
The mouth normally contains many microorganisms. One of these normal microorganisms is the fungus Candida albicans, which is the same fungus associated with vaginal yeast infections or other Candida infections. The growth of Candida is normally kept under control by the presence of normal bacteria.
Uncontrolled overgrowth of Candida in the mouth may be caused by factors that reduce the natural resistance, such as illness, stress, long-term use of corticosteroids or medications that suppress the immune system, and immune disorders such as (AIDS).
It may also be caused by conditions that upset the balance of normal microorganisms in the mouth. This is most commonly associated with use of antibiotics, but it may also occur with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and with the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy or the use of birth control pills.
Oral thrush is most common in infants and toddlers, in the elderly, and in people who are debilitated or whose immune system has been suppressed by disease or medical treatments.
Thrush in infants is common and is usually not associated with other diseases. Infant thrush that resists treatment or recurs frequently should raise suspicions for an underlying disorder.
In adolescents, young adults, and middle age adults, an oral Candida infection should always be viewed as a possible symptom of an underlying medical problem, such as diabetes or HIV infection, and should be evaluated.

There are folds in the back of your throat where your tonsils are. Food can get stuck in there and it starts to decay. That's why it smells so bad when it comes out.
The only thing you can do is gargle often, just with plain water - you don't need to use mouthwash all the time, but once or twice a day would be okay.
It's only natural. Don't worry about it, just rinse and gargle and you'll be fine.
ADDED: It is NOT strep throat or thrush. If you had either, your throat would be hurting and you would be running a fever.

It sounds like you have thrush, which is a type of yeast infection. Usually, this occurs due to recent antibiotic use. It can also be caused by stress or something else that might deplete your immune system. Yeast (Candida albicans is the most common form) is a natural organism that lives in our bodies, but if it grows or spreads it can become a problem. You will need to see a physician or you can treat it the natural way. Yeast feeds on sugar, so you will need to lay off of the sugar for a few days. Drink plenty of water, take a probiotic, try a yeast/fungal detox supplement, and drink 2-4 oz of organic unrefined apple cider vinegar with mother (frothy material left behind during the fermentation process) 2-3 times daily. One to try is Bragg apple cider vinegar. Hope this helps.

It's not thrush or a yeast infection ... it is tonsil stones..I have it too. When you tonsils have some hole for food to get stuck in, the food basically just rots there. Its stinks, is uncomfortable and can cause bad breath.. I think the only way to get rid of it is to have your tonsils taken out.. If it becomes really bad you should go to the eyes, nose, mouth specialists.

These are called tonsil rocks (tonsilloliths scientific name) not that uncommon, don't break them the smell is horrendus, of course now you probably will, I did as soon as someone told me not too.
it is believed they are caused by any of the following: food particles, dead white blood cells, oral bacteria, or overactive salivary glands.
Prevention methods include, gargling with salt water, cider vinegar, or a non-alcohol and non-sugar based mouthwash. Also reducing the amount of white sugar in your diet can help.
also here is a link to a site that sells a product to prevent tonsil rocks (http://www.therabreath.com/docs/tonsilstones.asp?affid=1164&source=mdtns&kw=1a)

OH I KNOW!
I had them all stuck in my tonsils---the dr. said it was actually food getting caught and they really really smell rotten--do you know it makes your breath bad? I had to get my tonsils out because of it--they also harbor infection, I think that was called something like "ack-tin-oh-my-sees", some sort of strep.
Yuck! You poor thing--it's very common. I used to dig them out with a toothpick until I poked myself and had to go to the ER--I had it ever since I got tonsillitis as a child.

It sounds like your tonsils are harboring an infection. This is common and may not cause other symptoms (i.e. sore throat). It's best you see a doctor. He may recommend you have them removed. Your breath will improve, no doubt.

It sounds like thrush(oral yeast infection) or it could be a sign of your body fighting an infection. Its better to get your Dr. to do and a swab culture to see exactly what is it.
