You can go with the standard gift, a blender, but that is a bit of a wedding cliche.
A wedding planner book would be good for the bride to be and for the groom to be I would recommend sending him a disconnect notice for his NFL Sunday ticket package on DirecTV or taking out an ad in the paper to help him sell his golf clubs.
On a more serious note, maybe a photo album for the two of them or just plain cash to help with the wedding expenses. I hate to say it, but engagement parties are mostly for the women anyway. So are the weddings for that matter.

I just got angaged and a friend of mine got me an ortiment with a a boy bear proposing to the gril bear on his knee with the ring in his hand. She had (we're engaged and the year and our names put on it) I Loved it so much, I thought it was the cutest thing ever. We will save that for the rest of our lives not to mentio n every year it will go on the christmass tree

Picture frame that holds you 2 full pictures. One side can hold 1st picture ever taken (which would remind them of their past) and other side their most recent picture.
