the only way is slow encouragement. try to get him to dress up as santa and show himself in the mirror
also try dressing people he likes up in a santa costume to see if that works

2 of my girls are the exact same way. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old who react the same way. They would even have their picture taken with the grinch but no santa. Nothing I would/could do helped so I just let it be. We look at Santa from afar and they seem to atleast want to see him, but be near him that is a big no-no.
BTW, my 4 year old has been like this since she was little. Never ever had a pic with Santa....would scream at the top of her lungs.

The whole Santa thing will be over in a few years anyway so why pressure her? Let it be. She'll either like Santa some day or not but at least by not pressuring her you wont need to pay for therapy later.

Time! Maybe next year will be better - maybe not. The only thing you can do is keep talking positive about Santa & remind her on Christmas morning that Santa brought the presents. Good luck!

I can't get my two year old to like santa either, so I'm not even doing the santa thing, cause he just doesn't get it. I wouldn't worry about it, just try again next year. Have you read him stories or watched movies about santa?

Hey now, think about it---you tell your kids not to talk to strangers, or go by them, and here's a scary looking freak fat man dressed in garish clothes and you want your baby girl to sit on his lap? YUCKKKK!
Do not force the issue...in my town, there was a pedophile that would put on a santa hat and drive around and he got little kids into his car by saying "Look it's me, Santa, come tell me what you want for xmas"...

My daughter was absolutely terrified of Santa till she was about 4. We just let her figure it out. She would watch her brothers go talk to him and get a candy cane. Pretty soon she tried it too.

Tell her how Santa is a good man, and read her books about him. Tell her all her presents are from him and stuff. If she is still freaked out, just let her grow out of it!

Don't! It's no big deal. If she doesn't like him, then you can't force her. You'll just make it worse. It's not like he's real or anything, so who cares if she doesn't like him.
