Consider the following: Christ said "the servant is not greater than the Master." He is the Master and was crucified.

Thus if Christ suffered, and said that we will suffer for His name sake, then why do so many people focus on the pain instead of the blessings?

*ouch* This is one I struggled with until recently and I have known the Lord Jesus 21 years.

I had this expectation that if I did everything right in my courtship with my now husband, read my Bible and prayed things would go well................well REAL life spanked me and hard and I was so hurt that God would allow me to go through so much I did not want to go to church or be a Christian anymore.

I have learned that Suffering is a part of being a christian not just prosperity the bitter and the sweet go and in hand and so do the good and the bad.

Philippians 1:29 Says we not only share in the glory of Christ but also share in the sufferings.

My expectation should be in God see Psalm 62:1-5 not circumstances. I was on the milk of the word way too long and now that I am more of a meat of the word Christian I am happier.

Life is not always easy fair or spiritual and this has been my life's
Lesson suffering makes you stronger and able to minister to others thank you for posting this and Be encouraged.

Very good question. It seems most Christians think of following Christ as an easy way out. Following the truth is never easy.

Allot of Christians truly believe that a true Christian that loves God will not suffer, because God will love them back and protect them. Well, they have a point there..except that they are missing the point of the real God. When they will finally worship the creator and not the creation (Jesus) then ..the creator will truly love and protect them.

They made to believe a lie from too many puplits:

Timothy II 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Timothy II 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Christians suffer just like anyone else. We get our feelings hurt. We have relationships end. We have loved ones move away. We have loved ones die. We are subject to painful things in life, just as anyone else is. We are not to dwell on it, is all. Grieve for your loss, and get on with life! Do not let it take over your life. Say you are my best friend, and you die. I will miss you. I will grieve for you for a short time. Then, guess what? I'm going on with my life. I'm going on to Jesus. If you lived your life the way He said to live it, I will see you again! The Word says not to grieve for those that are asleep. You will see them in the kingdom of God, if they lived right!

I don't know. I think it is because Jesus says whatever you pray for and believe that you receive you shall have it. I know many Christians who have suffered and there are Christians suffering persecution in countries around the world. All I know for sure is that God is with us in our pain and sorrow and joys

Good question. Right now God is blessing us and has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Too often we don't say the blessed promises God gives us, but instead speak our fears. When we speak our fears and believe then, we actually reap what we sow & suffer. It is actually discipline. God said that He will not be mocked, we will reap what we sow. Sow healing verses and victory verses, etc. instead of sickness verses.

But, the truth is that we will be persecuted. But persecution leads to growing in faith & in Christ. We learn how to wear our spiritual armor and also learn to trust & obey Gods direction.

True Christians who live like the bible commands, are willing to sacrafice. I know people who risk their lives, are persecuted, and threatened because they witness in foreign countries.

There is a huge difference between true Christians and those who say they are Christian but do not live a Christian-like life!

so many people do not. i do not complain about pain because i know Jesus suffered far more greatly. you need to suffer as a test of faith before you are blessed/rewarded. i know that everything that happens to me is for a specific reason. maybe not even for myself but to help someone else.

I praise God when I suffer because he's either gonna use it for my testimony or change the situation around.

:D

"so many" is a very good way to describe it.

I guess the answer is lack of faith. We gotta keep our eyes on God, not circumstances.
