The immigration law that requires that aliens be documented for legal entry. Those who sneak intto the country are referred to as "entry without inspection" (EWI). Others enter with legal documentation and then violate the terms on which they have been admitted by taking jobs that are not authorized or overstaying the authorized period of stay in the country. Both types of illegal aliens are deportable under Immigration and Nationality Act Section 237 (a)(1)(B) which says:
"Any alien who is present in the United States in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable."
It is NOT racist to call these people "illegal aliens" In fact, "illegal aliens" is the only term used in federal laws and regulations to describe criminals (and they ARE criminals) who come into our country illegally. They are not illegal immigrants, not undocumented immigrants, not migrant workers, and not day laborers - they're ILLEGAL ALIENS.

illegal aliens are called that, because our government made the rules, and thats just how it is...The people are suppose to apply for entry into our country. Even though it may take as long a 10 years,,, I know and you know that we would be willing to do that right....LOL. When you go through it the correct way, like I did it took 7 years to just get the green card. Even after the INS gave the suicide bombers there student visas, after they were already dead... I don't think those bad dishwasher and gardeners are a serious threat... and as far as taxes, Most work with fake ss card and pay taxes, That our government gets to keep.. So really how much money is the country making on them.... they can't file taxes..... We all need to think,,, think hard

As stated above, they have broken one or more laws regarding the fact they needed a Visa, they were allowed to stay here X number of days and they have overstayed, or our Government simply doesn't know they are here.
I cannot resist adding that this does not NECESSARILY mean ANY of the following:
1. It does not mean the immigration laws are FAIR and JUST.
2. It does not mean there should not be MORE immigrants allowed than there currently are.
3. It does not mean Illegal immigrants take more than they give.
4. It does not mean the PROCESS of becoming a LEGAL immigrant does not need a LOT of review AND speeding up.
5. It ESPECIALLY does not mean that children who were taken here before they could even talk should be characterized as illegal aliens. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Ok, there is a process to follow to become a citizen or to visit the US. The illegal alien is a person who did not follow this process. That person is in the US without the proper documents and without going thru the system.
Another way of looking at it is the purchase of firearms. There is a procedure for purchasing a pistol. Lets say I buy a pistol from a guy who let me do it without doing the paperwork and following the rules and procedures. Then I have acquired the gun "illegally".

They aren't here in compliance with our laws, therefor any benefits they or their family takes are stolen from those legally here, who respected our immigration limits. Our schools are being ruined and wages are driven down to increase business profits. It is not a victimless crime.

The fact that they didn't get a visa or work permit to come into the country.
Legal aliens all have visas of one sort or another - tourist, student, worker, volunteer, fiance etc etc
