Countries like Brazil, former largest Roman Catholic country in the world, has been loosing Catholic followers at a quick pace towards other creeds.
The very conservative approach the church has been using, the sexual harassment affairs the church has been trying to hide behind the Vatican fortress seems to be the trigger of the massive flight of their faithful herd all over the world.

never! the catholic church was founded by christ on St. Peter about 2000 years ago, christ said that the gates of hell would never prevail against his church! The catholic church throught the holy spirit made the bible canon and has preserved the scriptures all this time! so many people break away from catholicism because it strictly upholds God's law, which means no gay marriage, no birth control, etc.

Brazil still is the largest Roman Catholic country in the world 136 million catholics. The sexual harassments happenned all over the World (with all religions), but only in the USA it was so big. And you're completly wrong to think that Brazilians are becomnig protestants because of Vatican's conservatism, actually those Brazilian protestant churches are 10 times more conservative than the Catholic church, they're almost fundamentalist.

With the advent of modern technology that allows for E-mails and INSTANT MESSAGING on the Internet, TEXT-ing/calling via cell phones, and the CNN News team... it is conceivable that *ANYTHING* could literally happen overnight!

Witness the "People Power" that occurred in the Philippines to depose a dictatorship in the 1980s or bring down another president in the 1990s as well... it was done through the POWER of the cell phone [mostly TEXT-ing] each other into rallying masses at the opportune times.

Undoubtedly, MAN's CONSCIOUSNESS is now beginning to WAKE UP to the "sins of commission" and the "sins of omission" of the Roman Catholic Church, since its inception in the 4th century A.D. and all throughout the last two millennia when the RC Church RULED the Holy Roman Empire for three-fourths of the time or for over 1200 years... And the RCC continues to be at the forefront among all other religions today.

We can ONLY CONJECTURE as to "how many more years" it will take for the RC Church to endure its presence or existence, since it can NO LONGER HIDE from, or change, what History tells us of her FALSEHOODS, LIES, GREED, and ATROCITIES perpetrated upon the multitudes over the centuries...

Perhaps the yet untold/hidden "prophecy" of the Third Letter of Fatima speaks of the "End Times" for the RC Church when the last two remaining Popes will have been in place... As the saying goes, "Whatever has a beginning, has an end."

One can only hope that her FAITHFUL will now begin to open their eyes and see; listen and they will hear; seek and they will find the Truth.

Peace be with you.

As many that have left, many are coming to the church. The answer is it will be gone on the return of Christ.

There is ork on reunification between Rome and the Eastern Orthodoxy, which together would number close to 80% of the world Christians.

Keep in mind, the Catholic church still has the largest number of Christians.

Every religion in the History of the world had their days on earth. They may diminish in numbers but they will never disappear. Some Old minds will not easily give it up and insist their femilies to stay, There are still existing religions older than Hinduism and Buddism somewhere out there run by few quiet people.

There are too many gullible people out there that do not want to read the Bible for themselves. They would rather follow the footsteps of their parents and/or friends and take the easy road. The pope tells them what to do so they don't have to think for themselves.

It will never happen. I am from Brazil and apparently this has been happening but there are other doors being opened, so, I am so sorry to disappoint you, but this will never happen because Jesus said it won't happen and I do believe in Him.
God bless.
