You should take a break...break away from him.

I was in your shoes once (last BF). I finally told him I want to get married and be a family, and if you don't, that's fine, but I can't stay with you. I moved on and met the most wonderful man in the world. I didn't even know anyone could be as happy as I am with my guy. This never would have happened if I just hung in there, waiting for something to happen. Right from the start, my guy knew the score-marriage is in my plans, and I knew it was in his plans too. You have to figure out what's a deal breaker for you, and then honor yourself enough to keep that.

you're depriving yourself you should go out and see other people take a break if it is meant to be then the two of you will eventually be together if not then move on just be friends if you can't and that doesn't work then say good bye to each other what have you got to lose you're not getting any younger you're only getting older and time is something once you waste it you definitely can't get it back

Honey, you waited TOO LONG. He will keep you on the hook like a fish if you don't get away. It's when you're gone he'll make his move, or not. The "I love yous" are just to keep you around. Please cut bait and swim away, to a man who is dying to be with you.

you are right, make him choose, if he is not ready to commit after six years, he may very well never get ready.
