I use to breed these lovely little birds!! Make sure the pairs all have there own cages! Give them fresh greens and veggies!! If you already have the breeding boxes in place then just sit back and wait! The birds are not related are they??

Start off by taking all your birds for a vet checkup with a certified avian vet. They will tell you whether your birds are healthy enough to be putting the strain of breeding on them in the first place. Ask the vet for information about properly taking care of chicks and breeding parents.

It can be a very large time committment if you want to make sure as many of the chicks survive as possible. If any get rejected by the parents you will need to hand feed them every three hours, throughout the day and night - I hope you don't like to sleep at all, and that you don't have a day job. And it will be heartbreaking when a couple chicks inevitably die. Are you willing to make that committment to raising them? Are you willing to help bring lives into the world who may very well die before they open their eyes?

Best wishes, and whatever you decide, a certified avian vet checkup is your first step. It costs around $75-100 per bird, but it's essential to do once a year to make sure they remain healthy and to find problems before they become life threatening.

Just leave your birds together, they know what to do.

The best person to ask is your vet. He or she can show you everything you need to know.

If you don't have a vet, you can find one at http://aav.org/vet-lookup
