I am a mother of a daughter that is 16 months and a soon to be mother again of a son and I thought of this creative idea, but I want to see if it would be a good idea or not. I am actually trying to start a home-based business and I thought about all the mothers that are about to go into labor and they still dont have a name for their baby, and then i thought to myself, "What about making a business for helping parents name their kids?" And so I came up with a concept of a Baby Naming Consultant. So, what do you all think? Would you pay someone to help you name your kid or kids? It seems a little lame to me, but there are alot of moms who doesn't know what they would name their kids. So, let me know what you think.

That's a great idea! I wish I could work for you, I could use the extra cash. There are pleanty of moms who can't decide. There are also pleanty of moms naming their kids weird things they may not like next year. I wonder how you would start the business?

Sorry to say, even if you did start this business, I strongly doubt that anyone would fork over enough money to support your family to help name their kids. There are more than enough baby-naming websites and books out there that would be good enough competition. Also, if you wanted to start this business the only reason you would recieve alot of customers was if you were original, in the fact that maybe you took the parents beliefs, ideas, opinions, and came up with a name that means something that fits the parent's ideas perfectly. So basically, unless you are extremely original in your way of naming the children... then the business probably won't do so good.. Sorry to burst your bubble lol, Happy Holidays!

It's not a bad idea. How about finding out their lifestyle, etc.... then helping them choose names that have meanings that would interest them spiritually, emotionally and culturally.
Just a little research into name and origins would help.
Also, maybe offer a pretty printed definition of the baby's name, history of usage, etc... for a keepsake.

I would never pay someone too, especially when you could look on-line for free if you had no ideas. That's what I did, plus everyone has different tastes of names. There is no name that I would pay somebody to find that I couldn't find myself.

I doubt anyone would pay money for somebody else to name their kid. There are plenty of baby name books and websites for ideas.

no, i wouldn't pay someone to help me name my child. naming your children is something that is very personal. anyone who goes into labor without at least having some idea of what to name their child is just lazy.

There's always someone who will pay you for this in this world. Learn to utilize all cultures and languages so you can help whoever in this world.
