1. Wake up and make yourself a not an ordinary day breakfast - coffee or tea with peppermint or cinnamon, a really great omelet, a sticky cinnamon bun, whatever. Put on some holiday music, sit by the window with the best view and enjoy.
2. Take a warm, relaxing bath with lots of bubbles.
3. Go to church.
4. Buy some simple scrapbooking items and pull out those old photos. Put them in a new book and use your new supplies to spruce them up.
5. Call your kids and friends from far away and wish them Merry Christmas.
6. Bake some cookies or other holiday treat and take them around to the neighbors.
7. Spend a couple of hours in a soup kitchen or visiting a retirement/nursing/assisted living home. Bring books to read aloud either for children or adults.
8. Treat yourself to a real holiday dinner. Cornish game hens are nice when you don't need a turkey. Don't forget the cheesecake or other goodie for a treat.
9. Put your cozy pjs on and curl up with that great book you've been dying to get to.
10. Watch It's a Wonderful Life without interruption.

It depends on whether you want to have fun or to relax. Relaxing can be through anything from getting some good movies, taking long soaks in the tub, going through old photographs, or having a friend over for some chat and so on. I'd also recommend some good quality alcohol to help you relax and enjoy your personal time. To have fun you can always go out and find something going on. I know it's tough going out by yourself if you haven't done so in a while, but you can try it out if you feel up to it. It also depends on where you live and what sort of holiday activities are going on around there.

Maybe you could visit a friend or volunteer in a soup kitchen/shelter for a couple hours or just spend a day relaxing with your favorite cup of joe
Happy Holidays to you :)

You know? There is a lot of wonderful people around, you just need to look. I bet you have friends that are willing to have you over or to come to your house. If nithing else, bake some cookies and give them away, especially if there is needy people in your city.
What about people from church? Have you forgotten (may be not) about God?
If you lived close to my town, I would invite you over to spend Cristmas with my wife and me.
May God bless you.

How about some charity/community events? For years you have given your love and care to children and mom, if there is still left, try give it to someone who needs it badly now. You will feel needed, and I'm sure they will find a lot for you to do. Also, you'll get to know some new interesting active people, you may make someone smile. :)
