I own a full grown golden retriever. The problem is I am having company tomorrow and would like him to look good. Besides I have been wanting to take him for some time. So all he needs is his nails clipped, and his hair needs trimming and perhaps a bath, I am still trying to think if I will bath him myself. Does Petsmart let you choose what needs to be done to them or it only comes in a package of all they will do. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think it depends highly on where you live and the type of dog you have. It cost me 58 bucks for my poodle mix (no sales tax in new hampshire yay), which includes the top dog package, full service groom, nail and care package. She loves it, she goes in scared comes out jumpy and happy acting like she's a puppy (she's 12 years old).

You should call your local petsmart center to see if they have grooming or check the website. If you go make sure you call ahead to see if you need an appointment or you can walk in. Yes you can choose the services you want. Prices are surprisingly posted on the website:

Don't!!!
Petsmart does not have good groomers. They overschedule and rush through the job. Many people I know have complained about them cutting their dogs. The one (and only) time I brought my dog there they didn't get all the tangles out of her fur and when they trimmed her nails they cut her three times.
Find a good groomer. The best ones will specialize in grooming only.

Nail & Ear Care Package

Add-On Care Packages:
Our caring professionals offer two add-on care packages to fit your dog's special needs. Both services are add-ons to the Bath, Brush & More and Full Service Groom packages. The Top Dog Care Package is ideal for dogs with dry coats or skin and includes teethbrushing, which is an essential component of proper hygiene.

The Healthy Dog Flea & Tick Solution is a popular add-on service during warmer months when fleas and ticks are at their worst. Frequent scratching or evidence of "flea dirt" on the base of your dog's tail (looks like grains of black pepper) are evidence that your dog has fleas. For every flea on your dog, there are about 100 in your home. Thus, the Healthy Dog Flea & Tick Solution should be supplemented with other home treatments for your furniture, bedding and other areas your dog encounters. All of these products are available at PetSmart, although the Healthy Dog package is not available in some states. Consult a PETStylist for comprehensive information on ridding your home of these pests.

Call Pet Smart and ask them for pricing. I had my dogs toe nails cut 6 days ago and they charged me $8.00 dollars. That's pretty cheap since my vet charges $1.00 a toe. Pet Smart does offer individual serves along with package services. They were going to charge me $55 dollars to bath and clip my cat, but I called around and found cheaper services somewhere else.

About $50 for the nail trimming a bath, teeth cleaning, and full brush. I wouldn't really suggest hair trimming since Gold's don't usually need it, especially if you have cold winters. I wont trim my dog until summer, and she is a Malamute inside dog.

I bring my terrier to Petsmart for grooming. You can have as much or as little service as you want, but I don't think you can wash him first - but call them and ask. Getting an appointment is not always easy - the service is very popular and I usually call in advance for an appointment.

It usually depends on the size of the dog. It cost me about $40 for my 97 lb lab.

I've only taken my dogs there once, but they are cocker spaniels. I think the price varies .. depending on the size and type of cut. You can call and ask what the prices are and what it all includes. My guess is that it will be about $35.
