I do believe that it is possible to stop global warming, and even start global cooling in the near future, provided that there is a worldwide cooperative effort to achieve reduction of and total elimination of global warming though manipulation of all the factors that contribute to global warming and/or global cooling in such a way that the net effect on the increase in global warming is zero.
Factors to consider:
CARBON DIOXIDE: More carbon dioxide means more heat trapped in the atmosphere.
CARBON DIOXIDE: Trees and plants absorb carbon dioxide
CARBON DIOXIDE: More carbon dioxide means increases in growth of plants as concentration increases, until it gets to a concentration where growth increase levels off and/or declines slightly with greater concenttions of carbon dioxide.
The above facts could be used to have greenhouse gas carbon dioxide trapped and used to increase crop production.
METHANE The oil companies should stop venting natural gas into the atomshere because it is not economic to trap it at the (oil production well) site.
FOSSIL FUELS (coal, oil, gas) elimination of dependence on these energy sources, by conversion to windpower, geothermal, and solar energy.
RECYCLE GREENHOUSE GASES BY USING GREENHOUSE GASES TO INCREASE GROWTH OF PLANTS FROM WHICH BIOFUELS LIKE ETHANOL AND BIODIESEL CAN BE MADE.
Remember, in the final analysis all global warming starts with ithe sun. The more energy put out by the sun the more warming. This operates on its own, and is not controled by greenhouse gas concentration. The dynamic of the amount of energy put out by the sun is not well understood, and delines or increases are noted, but they do not tend to be dramatic. This does however needs to be monitored.
When thinking about global warming ask yourself this question: Do I like warm winters?
PERHAPS WE MIGHT DO WELL TO SIMULATE THE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING BY PUTTING PLASTIC DOMES OVER OUR CITIES AND TOWNS TO KEEP GREENHOUSE GASES IN SO THEY CAN BE WARM IN THE WINTERTIME!!!!!

Though man may not be solely to blame for the warming, it is now known that the current trend of warming has been aggravated by man and that man made global warming is indeed a fact. The big question is how much is man to blame and the evidence is indicating that man has contributed a great deal to the warming. The warming trend is accelerating at non-natural rates.
Can it be reversed? Well that is the trillion dollar question but the answer is that we are probably too late to stop a large part of the damage and we are already starting to see the damage on a global scale. Animal species are at risk, low level Pacific Island nations such as Tuvalu are already in danger, hurricanes in the some areas, droughts in others.
What can we do to reduce the impact?
Do the usual things like taking less trips in the car but keep in mind of what you do in your daily life that impacts on the environment.
Make things you buy last longer.
Buy food grown locally and buy organic foods if you can.
Cook with fresh ingredients from scratch instead of ready-made meals that are impregnated with chemicals from the oil industry and shipped thousands of miles to you plate.
Don't put up Christmas lights and if you do use LED lights instead.
Commute on a bicycle or invest in a scooter to get around take a bus or better yet walk.
Never fly anywhere the train goes.
Never shop at places like Wal-Mart or Home Depot if there is a locally owned alternative and look for North American made products. (remember Honda and Toyota etc are now North American made but that Ford could have been built in Japan)
Move closer to work.
Plant a garden.
Turn off the lights and go to bed earlier to use less lighting.
Turn up the temperature on the AC and turn down the temperature on the furnace.
Invest in more efficient systems around you house.
Stay away from vacation spots like Las Vegas
Most of all keep thinking about what you are doing to impact the environment.

The only way for us to do that is to switch to battery or ethanol based cars. And to stop waisting heating and air and other energies. Dont listen to the bastards that say it is impossible to slow. They just look for an excuse to live in the over consuming way they do. Everyone is to lazy and self indiulgent to really limit this that why laws should be put into action restircting the amount of oil a person can use and such things as that. The sun and natural things do play a role in it. But even if we arent the cause theres nothing wrong with having a healthier enviroment.

yes we can stop the global warming ,with the covering of ozone layer but now there is a big hole on the ozone thats why now we have to fallow some precautions like
plant the trees,
Carbon and Emissions Trading (30)
Carbon Tax (3)
Clean Development Mechanism (11)
Community Action (40) new

There is a way. We can cut down on our own pollution. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Our interaction definitely has sped up global warming. However, remember that global warming is a natural process. We are probably heading into a mass extinction.

Nope. Global warming is much older than the human race. It is controlled mostly by the sun, although volcanoes can also affect it. Human interaction MAY have something to do with it, but even if we were to go extinct today, it wouldn't 'stop' it.

NUCLEAR POWER MAY BE ONLY WAY TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING
Britain may need one more generation of nuclear power stations in the fight against climate change, Sir David King, the Government's chief scientific adviser, says.
Sir David, who has sounded the alarm about global warming more loudly than anyone else in recent years, believes that new nuclear plants may be needed to keep Britain's faltering plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on course.

No, at this point, the damage is done. At best, we can slow global warming, but it will be 100's, if not 1000's of years for a reversal to take place.

No. It is a natural process that has nothing to do with algore's scary movie. Problem is, the socialists see it as a way to get in the back door by damaging the world economy and redistributing wealth (through the so-called "carbon credits") to the socialist countries who have no real industry, due to their flawed political system and its inability to promote productivity.

I think we should explore the possibility of using the mechanical force of the rotation of the earth to cause winds in pipes to run dynamos instead of fossil or nuclear fuel as I point out how simple and easy this could be done on my web site at www.geocities.com/scifuntubes/index.html please visit the site
