ok at work i gave everyone i work with a xmas card and a instant lotto ticket a few won on them one guy won two dollors and then left me a dollor of it. with a note that said thank you and here is my half.. i really dont want it and i know we are talking about $1.00 . so do i keep it or give it back i am afraid if i give it back he will be insulted... but this was my gift to him i didnt want any of the money won on them... what should i do btw not that is may matter but he is an older gent.. so would you keep the buck or give it back with a note saying thanks but its your to keep??

I guess it depends on the way he gave it to you; I don't think a one dollar bill really matters very much - I'm sure he'll be all right with it. It may have been insulting for you to get it from him, but it would be too much of a story for you to return it back to him. I'm sure he felt funny winning two dollars. Just thank him, keep the dollar, and let him know that it was meant for him to keep. If you're a little iffy and self-conscious about it, buy him a cup of coffee. It's only generosity and kindness exchanged.

Sounds like it was given as sort of a thank-you for you thinking of him and getting him a gift. I would tell him that it was meant for him but also thank him for giving you a dollar of it. Keep the dollar. Giving it back would insult him. Hope this helps.

An insult about issues iv carried out and an insult about the human beings i spend time with Iv carried out a large number of issues i think sorry about and at the same time as some-one insults my buddy i am going to kick their *** : )
