Let me remind you of ALL the things you guys have done to everyone else! (Ignore this if you are a nice Christian person)
Anybody not Christian or Jewish, you call Satanic, Evil, Demonic, Deserving of Death! You try to convert them!
In Europe, people were KILLED because they were witches and Pagans. In fact, your Bible was changed by King James to change "Suffer not a poisoner to live" to "Suffer not a witch to live".
In the Crusades, MANY MANY idigneous Pagans were killed. But you know what? You slaughtered Muslims, too!
Have you heard of the East India Trading Company? They went into India and forced the Muslims and Hindus who lived there to fight... using items that were made of Cow (sacred to Hindus) and Boar (sacred to Muslims)! And you guys didn't change, either. In fact, the Muslims and Hindus revolted to get their rights.
You guys go into Africa with food and water, conditioning people to believe that it was not from them, but from Jesus, and you BRAINWASH them!

Here in America, you guys tell Atheists off, that they're going to Hell, just like you do to the Pagans! In fact, you killed MANY Atheists from China and Russia, associating their religion to who each individual, which was... duh... wrong. And you killed them.
You bombed the Japanese, so, surely the Shinto and Buddhists are upset with you.
Come to think of it, you Christians even kill EACH OTHER! Just look to Ireland for that one!
I doubt there are many groups as a whole who are not upset with you, aside from Buddhists because they are pacifists!
So, why do you feel you are victimized, Christianity? Why do you feel like you are the innocent, pure ones, the chosen ones of the Deit(y/ies) [if it exists], when you are the ones who have broken commandments (Thou shalt not kill) and the words of your savior (Love thy neighbor as you love thyself)?
Again, no offense to nice Christians.

You are all wrong and full of hate. The things you have mentioned except for perhaps one or two were not done in the name of Christianity but of politics or other things which really have to do with secular interests. Second the things you mention were not part of the Christian teaching or religion .
Do you know anything about the crusades? The crusades first of all were a fight for survival, and were political and totally understandable. This really puts the motivation for many of these things in the hearts of men who were not religious and therefore should be considered among unbelievers, because how can you be considered a Christian or what you do be considered Christian if it is not. It should be defined for what it is, the evil of unbelievers who were part of Hcristian culture.
This does have some nuance and exceptions, becasueas I sadi the Crusades were necessary and reasonable and a reaction to Muslim agression. The interest of the state were the main motivation of many of these things, not Christiniaty. But I almost feel like it is pointless, because you obviously have no knowleged of what you are speaking and therfore no way to know when you are being told the truth or not. You have some historical facts only but not the interpretation of them, but you have adopted an interpretation that is evil believing rather than good, when the evidence and contexts often support a much more charitable and good reveiw. Do you know that Muslims were in Spain at oner point? what were they doing there? Do you know that very early oN Mohammed predicted that he would takeover the the remnant of the Roman Empire at Constantinople? and he did. How do you think Islam got the territory it got, when they were Christian before? The European repsonse stopped Muslim aggression. Even the attempts to take the "Holy Land " can be considered legitimate since it was taken over by Muslims as well from Roman authority. The point beinmg there is much more that you do not know or do not mention.
But Christinity itself is the most benign and kind religion in the world, teaching men to do good, even at that time it was slowly working in hard men, pushing out the many evil things that had been adopted and slowly working its way to producing kinder gentler men who would one by one realise the error of their ways, and modern society is in large part a result of that and that alone.

Christianity isn't the only religion that has committed atrocities you know...it can be said for every religion, the world does have a long history.
Either way, that was ancient history....why are blaming modern day Christians? (which I am not btw) Are people still blaming your great grandpa for owning slaves?
Everyone knows that organized religion is flawed...that is because it's run by men and God is rarely the focus anymore.
If the past is the only argument you Atheists are going to make...then you guys should just give up on questioning religion and pointing out every single mistake religion has made (because most know how to read books and can see it ourselves) and just lead your happy lives.
Have you actually read history? I'm a history major and the fact that you are twisting history just to make Christians look bad is pathetic.
The actions of the East Indian Trading Company and the Sepoy Revolt had nothing to do with pushing religion, it was about Imperialism...look it up. Every country and government has done it. Also, the British were ASKED by the parts of the Indian population to help the stop certain religious Hindu traditions...like child marriage and sati. They wanted power, trade, and land, just because they wanted the Indian soldiers to use certain efficient British guns that used cow grease, does not mean that they were trying to convert the masses. It means they wanted the job done their way...but go ahead, blame all Christians for the actions of Britian's military...
....and Christians bombed the Japanese?! ....When did that happen? Oh wait, you mean WW II....you are a moron and there's really nothing else to say, you're obviously just a kid who relies on Wikipedia for accurate information...

As a Christian, we do not call Non-Christians as Satanic, Demonic or Deserving of Death. oh and everyone deserves death, it is the way to eternal life actually. Although i don't think am ready for that yet. (smiles and prays hard,...)
The killings that have occurred throughout history was a mess. Done by people, who did not understand and had a misconception of what the scriptures meant. But Christians weren't the only ones guilty. There was blood shed that a lot has been responsible for. But why blame it on the Christians that live today and had no participation in those acts. Same goes to members of other religion, group, tribe or nation whose History include some blood shed? Why blame those who live now of the things that happened way way long ago?
Go to Africa with a mission and telling them its from Jesus? Is it bad to say that you are there because of your belief, of your conviction in Jesus Christ? Is it a fault to go do a good deed and tell others that your following Jesus' way?

You will know a tree by it's fruit. What you have posted shows you do not live in the light but in death.
It shows the hate in your heart. For what is in our heart will also fall from our lips, in this cast, your posting.
I don't read the KJV(1611) I prefer a more modern version (translation) that uses today's language. Do you study the original manuscripts, if so...that's awesome and I'd love to commend you! However, I'm thinking that you do not and therefore are repeating something someone else has said at some point. Why would you want to spread hate? Just give that some thought.
Funny, you mention the Christians that "slaughtered" Muslims. Did you know that Islam was built on the model of the Crusades and they (Muslims) in fact swept through northern Africa and the Middle East killing Jews, Christians and anyone that wouldn't convert? I see you left that out...or perhaps you just didn't do your homework?
BTW, boars/pigs/swine are not sacred to Muslims, they want nothing to do with them. Cows to the Hindu's are seen as holy. There's a difference.
You must do your homework and include all truths, instead of posting half truths that just make you look foolish.
You seek not understanding, knowledge and the wisdom to apply it to your life but instead prefer lies and half truths.

I understand your frustration. As a Christian, I get frustrated also when things are done in the name of Christ that are unScriptural and havbe no basis in the true heart of God. Do not lump all believers into the same mold.
You also have to understand that Christianity has been a set of creeds that people adhere to for thousands of years but yet they do not really live by them. Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is one. Don't confuse religion with a genuine relationship with Christ.
Whether you believe it or not, genuine good has come about by devout Christian movements - including the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, World Vision, Compassion International, etc. There are many, many Christiains who have stood up to what has been done in the name of religion to declare that there is a better way. Look at Mother Teresa, Billy Graham - who can argue that these and others like them have not left a wonderful mark on our world.
Again, it seems that many, including this post, confuse what countries do in time of war with Christianity. Please don't cite the crusades or other wartime events as proof of disbelieving in God. Don't equate the actions of man with the reality of Christ.
Finally, are you telling me that atheist countries like Russia and China have not also committed atrocities that make as shudder in horror? Are you saying that atheists and pagans have never murdered, or raped, or plundered? Should I lump all of them into one group and label them as horrible?

I am a Christian and most people I know understand and accept that about me. I have never been mistreated as a Christian in America. When I have talked about my faith, no one has ever mocked or laughed at me. The worst thing that ever happened is that a guy didn't want to be in a group with me in my English class because I'm a Christian. He was afraid I would "convert" him--as if I have some magic spell to change people's hearts and minds.
Yes, atheists on this site sometimes rant and rave at what they think of as Christianity. You do the same by lumping all religious people together--including incredible fanatics. But true Christians aren't the same as people caught up in religion. True Christians seek to follow in the ways of Jesus. The examples you give are more similar to the religious Pharisees of Jesus' day--the religious people he condemns, and not his actual followers.

I consider myself a good Christian and if you knew me, you'd probably consider me the same. I'm a pacifist and would rather avoid confrontation but when I hear things like this, it makes me upset. Especially when you're facts are not straight and you're making huge mistakes. Firstly, you made a strong point based entirely on the fact that Christians went into India and forced the Hindus and Muslims to fight with items sacred to them (boars and cows). Your entire paragraph was about that and then you corrected yourself saying (sorry, they're filthy animals). In other words, that entire point you attempted to make was bogus.
As for the Christians killing muslims... let us take a stroll down OTTOMAN EMPIRE lane shall we? If my history serves me correctly, I recall something to the effect of muslims converting christians or else death. In some cases allowing them to keep their religion but confining them to small little areas where they had to obey and answer to the muslim turkish rulers. Also, in many cases, christian children (boys) were taken from their families and raised as muslim fighters without ties to families, etc and fighting for a religion that they were forced into.
Before you make one sided accusations, make sure you know what everyone did.

I didn't do any of that stuff.
In fact, I don't think I was even born yet...
The people who did those things were not Christians (meaning of Christ) although they claimed to be. Many people do things in the name of God or Jesus, claiming to have His authority to carry out such acts. That's been going on since the beginning of time.
But just because somebody claims to have God's authority does not make it so. I could claim to have authority by the President and the U.S. military to kill innocent civilians, but once the REAL authorities catch up to me, I would be punished severely.
It is the same for false Christians.
There are VERY FEW true Christians left in the world today. Most are hypocrites that believe they actually have favor with the Almighty God while they live selfishly and condemn others.

I consider myself to be a good Christian. But, others may not. I do try to "convert" others as you say, but only because I don't want anyone else to die an eternal death and suffer in hell. I just want people to accept Jesus into their hearts. If we could all just get along, right? Well, If we could all just ask ourselves "what would Jesus do?" then do as he would, the world would be a better place. But even Christians are sinners. Even Christians stray from their faith. And even some that are labeled "Christians" are not actually Christians. Just remember that in the end, God will sort it all out.

Yeah, some Christians were/are jerks. However, it's good not to lump them all together because of their group's past transgressions and murderous rampages.
Education, patience, and time should hopefully help.
Also, you have to keep in mind that Christianity revers martyrdom. When the religion was brand new, Christians faced true danger, and their PR department decided to push the idea the martyrdom is wonderful to keep people in the religion. The problem occurred after the Christians got into power and there were no more martyrs after their rough fist few hundred years. This is when monasticism came into play: to "die" from the material world. However, the monk thing isn't working for the populace anymore, and that idolization of martyrs still exists so some Christians perceive they're under attack! It comes from their long history.
