If you bathe her too often, it will make it worse. I wouldn't bathe her more than once a month at the VERY most. I also heard that if you put a little bit of vegitable oil in with their food it moistens their skin/fur.

Add some oil to the top of her food. If you have vegetable oil at your house, that will work. But giving her the constant baths is what is drying out her skin. Thats why she has dandruff. Instead of washing her all over cause her butts dirty, why not just dampen a rag and wash her butt or use baby wipes. Try this and it should help.

Stop giving her baths for one thing; its drying her fur out which causes dandruff. Cats do not need baths. Buy her some cat lax; something used for hairballs & follow the directions. It will not only stop her from having hairballs but it contains oil which will help rid her of the dandruff as well. You don't need to take her to a vet but if the above doesn't work you might want to give them a call & ask what they recommend. Merry Christmas.

Baths can make it worse. cats skin is actually oily and protects it somewhat from drying out. Just keep up with proper grooming and maybe try a different food. Dander is also caused buy saliva from the cat bathing itself. I had a cat once that was horrible for dander, all we could do was comb him and take our allergy pills. If all else fails, talk to a vet.

no more bathing for awhile...
add tuna with oil to her regular food
keep brushing tho.
most importantly.... keep a steaming pot on the stove or get a humidifier both of you will benefit from that. your skin will stop getting the itchies too!

It sounds like your cat may need a prescription. Call your vet and discuss it with them.
