According to the Baha'i Writings, faith is "conscious knowledge" that inspires action. The modern tendency to cast faith in opposition to reason is a distortion of what faith (and religion) is about. Unfortunately, religious people have often embraced that distortion, but it is no less a distortion for that. Faith is not about accepting propositions for which there is no evidence, but is in fact based in evidence. In one sense, it is a form of trust. One doesn't usually form trust relationships based on zero evidence or, worse, in spite of evidence to the contrary.

Islam has six (6) pillars of faith. These pillars make up the basis of Islamic belief.
1. Belief in One God.
2. Belief in Angels.
3. Belief in Divine Books (Old Testament, New Testament, Quran, & Others).
4. Belief in the Prophets of God.
