I have a 3-4 month old kitten that my dad took to the local pound recently to get it registered. Since our kitten wasn't exactly behaving the last time he was there, one of the nurses rubbed him abrasively with her hand back and forth on his head, between the ears. Will that affect his mental growth? Or will it affect him in any other way?

She was just giving him "noogies" for his misbehavior. Didn't hurt him, but he didn't like it and knew to stop what he was doing.

the respond is pheromones. Pheromones are fragrance glands that are got here upon on a cat's brow, around the mouth, the paw pads and anus. via rubbing its brow on you, the cat is relatively fragrance-marking you. The fragrance produced via the glands on the brow additionally calms the cat, and is especially used for marking a cat's inner nest territory. So it has a 2-way use. The fragrance glands on the ft secrete pheromones that are used for marking a much broader territory (via scratching on posts or any merchandise.) The pheromones on the back end are produced throughout excitation/rigidity, yet is additionally used to perceive the cat's muddle (as in litterbox.)

since it's a one time deal, i think your cat is fine. it's not like human baby skulls where you have to worry about that 'patella' thing when they are little. don't worry. just give your kitty lots of love and don't take it back to that nurse.
