I don't believe using President Bush is a helpful analogy in this situation. If Mr. Bush strapped a bomb to his body, entered a crowded market in a Muslim town, and blew up many people because he thought that was a legitimate shortcut to heaven, then maybe we could use him as an example of Christian extremism. Just some friendly advice...whether you like Bush or not, don't try to trick people into believing that he's a violent religious zealot. Pick an extremist, like a guy who blows up an abortion clinic or someone like that instead.

i'd favor to carry close the position to procure the concept atheists weren't persecuted in historic Greece by way of the indisputable fact that is amazingly a lot incorrect, e.g. Socrates replaced into performed because he replaced into accused of being an atheist (although he denied it). The polytheists did have a tendency to do truly more beneficial in words of non secular tolerance than the monotheists besides the indisputable fact that the way they tolerated one yet another replaced into to merge their gods (e.g. Zeus and Jupiter were seen as the same) and co-make certain each and each others gods, those who refused to attempt this did get some persecution (e.g. the Jews) even though it replaced into in many circumstances extremely 0.5-hearted. also for the period of historic previous a lot of governments have derived their legitimacy from the divine good of kings (even democratic Athens) in which case atheism will be treason, it replaced into the discovery of cutting-edge secular democracy the position legitimacy is derived from the choose of the human beings who can trust even in the experience that they choose that extremely allowed atheism to thrive.
