Any dog I rescue needs vet checked before he comes in the house. Shoot they may have given it to you because it has scabies or ringworm that you and your family can get!!

Yes, take your puppy to the vet for a check up. You should always do this any time you bring home a new puppy. Um, and yeah, everyone is right about this pup being way too young to be away from momma yet.

On another note, did you know there's plenty of room to add text under the "initial question" on here so that you can add more details. More details will give folks more to work with to help you with an answer. You can also edit your question to add more information to it... so you can answer questions that come up, right in the question you initially ask. This makes it much easier for the people trying to help you out.

Yes, you should take the pup to the vet asap. This way, if there are any problems with the dog, the vet would be able to sign off that he is not adoptable if he has something really wrong with him. If you're adopting him from a breeder, he should be completely healthy.

u should immediately take him to the vet. no questions asked. i made the mistake of not carefully looking at the parents of my puppy. we never asked about the vet. he had worms. no shots. he weighed six pounds and was very skinny. but he is the second greatest thing that has ever happened to me. we spent thousands of dollars making this dog well. he has had 3 surgeries in his life. and we spent a thousand dollars on those 3 surgeries all together. but i wouldnt have it any other way. i would be offended if my parents didnt spend the money to make him better. my dog is like my child. he is my best friend. my grand parents told us to take him out and shoot him some where. i dont know who would do that to their dog. even if he was on the brink of death and could be saved.

happy holidays

yes take it ASAP to a vet to have it's shots and to be wormed. The sooner the better especially if you have other pets that could be infected with something it may have!

Ummm...not sure if I quite understand the question.

If you just adopted a dog, then yes, the first thing you should do is take it to the vet for vaccinations and a physical. Be sure to bring a fecal sample with you.

It is always good to have it checked right away, specially if it was not seen by a vet prior to purchase. If no shots have been given, they should be started right away. Good luck with your new baby.

yes! take him ASAP. Meanwhile, do not let him come into contact with any other dogs. He can pass/catch diseases if he hasn't had vaccinations!
