she's not a regular drinker...i think she's had smirnoff twisted before but that's all. I'd like to get her a bottle of liquor.

nothing...take her to the liquor store and give her the money to buy it for the first time, that's always fun.

Whatever you do, do not give spiced rum. A rum headache is inevitable for an inexperienced drinker. Flavored rum is okay, Bacardi Grand Melon tastes like a Jolly Rancher, it mixes perfectly and no chaser is needed after a shot.

You could also try a tequila with 100% agave. Not Jose Cuervo! When people talk of Tequila headaches, it is often a result of too much Cuervo. By law tequila only has to have about 51% agave sugar extract. Cuervo sticks to this minimum the rest is rot-gut rum extracts. The only good Cuervo is the Tradicional which is 100% agave. Do not believe the television advertisements. Patron is a good choice but it can be expensive. Maybe try A bottle of 1800 silver, Milagro silver or reposado, or a bottle of Casadores...all are good choices. Shots go down easy even without a chaser. And if you absolutely have to mix it, you can.

If Vodka is what your looking for Stoli Elit is the best, but it's way out of my price range. Hangar One is the best Vodka in an affordable price range. Other good options: Effen, Ciroc and Ketel One. However if you're just mixing Smirnoff is tolerable and cheap.

On a side note: you are more likely to get sick mixing drinks than you are drinking them "neat". This is because of the added sugars. Fruit juice is the absolute worse, if you must mix go with a diet cola.

Are you sure you want to give something that high in alcohol content? Someone already mentioned Asti which is Italian Spumante (like champagne) most notably by Martini and Rossi. This an excellent choice. You could also try a White Zinfandel, it's sweet, low in alcohol and affordable. Sutter Home and Barefoot are good choices.

Enjoy these choices in moderation and you won't need to worry about "having a bathroom handy." You can get decently drunk with out getting sick.

Don't buy anything too harsh because she'll be gone within 5 minutes. If you do, go with Absolut, me and a bud stayed up all night taking shots from it and some other kind of liquor, yeah I had to clean the carpet the next day.

I would not get someone alcohol but if you insist, Kauhlua or Baileys Irish Cream (This can be mixed with so many different things, such as coffee, ice cream shakes, cakes, etc...) I would not recommend anything to hard core, as I am also not a drinker. You can probably find a great gift set now during the Holidays, check a local grocery store or costco, sam's club. Good luck!

depend on what you want to get her.
Whiskey - Jack or Southern Comfort
Vodka - Absolute or Smirnoff
I wouldn't start with Gin just yet
Rum - Bacardi (light, Dark, clear. wide range).

If this is her first time drinking I would start these as mixes or you had better have a bathroom handy.
Do NOT start with Tequila.

The place where I dance has guys bringing in young men just turning 21 all the time and when they start with shots of any straight Liquor it is a fair bet they will be seeking the bathroom fairly soon.

Southern Comfort, it's sweet and strong. I really like whiskeys with dr pepper or coke Jack and Dr Pepper is good and a little sweet if you mix it good. Seagram 7 with 7up or sprite is good too Colorado Bulldogs taste like chocolate milk with alcohol (Kahlua, Milk, Pepsi, and Vodka) Wine is sweet and strong Margaritas and Daquaris are sweet/strong I can't think of anything else at the moment but there's alot more sweeter drinks

why not get a flavored vodka? smirnoff makes like 4 or 5 different flavors

i would stay away from whisky/burbon/scotch cause those are really strong. i made the mistake of getting burbon for my 21st birthday cause i had to go pick it out since all of my friends are younger.
