I prompt this question because i have noted that christians believe in jesus as their saviour and worship no other gods or idos (excluding money)

A christian wont go around preaching the word of a mohammed and is therefore an "atheist" in regard to islam...
So, it is true to say that all christians are in fact atheists of all the other religions?

No "holy" book quotes if you please, thank you.

Definition of Atheist:a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.

Christians do beleive in a supreme being. So so muslims and most other religions, Christian and non-Christian. They only disagree as to who that supreme being is.

If I believe in any god I am considered a theist. To say that I am a Christian theist is somewhat redundant. However, I would agree that, no, I do not believe in Allah as the one true God. If that makes me an Islamic atheist in someone's book, then I guess I am. But we are not really discussing the true meanings of the words.

A Christian could also assume that an atheist is actually a "theist" in that he/she serves the "gods" of self, reason, and/or secular humanism. But again, we would not be discussing the true meaning of the words. We are taking the definitions to an extent that they really are not meant to go.

Why would a Christian go around preaching about Islam. As a Christian myself I wouldnt but I dont judge or condem those that do. Thats their religion let them preach it. So to answer your question no Christians arent atheists. Atheists dont believe in God, Christians do. So how could a Christian be an atheist?

a·the·ist (ā'thē-ĭst)
n. One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.

No matter what religion Christians dont believe in, it doesnt matter if they dont believe in the same god, Christians are aware that there is a God and a spiritual world and other religions know that Christians believe in God/Jesus/Holy Sprirt so therefore there is no way in anyone's eyes that a Christian can be atheist just because they dont believe in their god.

The answer hinges on the most universal definition of the word 'atheist' which makes it clear that NO christians are, in fact, Atheists.

i think that you have jumped to conclusions.
an atheist is: One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.
(that was copied right from the dictionary,by the way)
therefore, you are wrong. just because we do not beleive in Allah does not make us atheists

Everyone is an atheist to some degree.

Christians do not believe in thousands of gods, I just choose not to believe in one more - theirs.

You are right. Athiest simply means the absense of belief in ANY deity, so that would include Allah, Buddah, etc.
