That means she isn't ready yet. Give her some more time and try again.

Have you ever seen candy sucker's in a strip? They are all attached, single wrapped in a hanging strip. Well I purchased one and every time my child went potty in the potty, he or she received a sucker. If they just sat on the potty to pretend, they did not get one. This is also the time to teach about brushing teeth after having a sweet snack. If a string of them aren't available, a jar with some in it placed out of reach but visible will do.

Little girls work good with bribes!! I know it sounds bad- but my 18 month old little girl LOVES to go potty because I give her a "potty pop" at the end of the day if she goes on the potty like a "good girl!!" :o)

Our potty pop is a popsicle or sucker usually- but a potty prize works the same way! (stickers, etc!)

purchase a potty traingin video with characters she like on tv and put the potty chair in front of the tv. have her watch the video while sitting on the potty chair. or what worked on my son was we put a remote controlled car on the back of the toilet and he couldn't have it till he went on the potty for a week staight. It took a little bit but it worked.

20 months is pretty young. All kids are different but the average age is 2 to 3. You have to wait until she shows signs that she's ready and she doesn't seem to be ready. The way I did it (my son was 2 1/2) was took away the diapers and pull ups and just let him walk around all day in underwear. I kept the carpet cleaner handy just in case but after 2 days he didn't like the feel of pee running down his legs and we were done. I was surprised at how quickly it happened but he was ready.

She is still young, but to start set a routine like every hour take her to the toliet and sit her on there just for a minuet even if she doesn;t do anything make a big deal deal (clap horaaah etc) from there you can move to getting underware (when she is going to the toilet)and so on.

my daughter is 18 months old and i've basically just started introducing it to her technically they tell you not to start until they're two but im just introducing it to her my father bought her a potty doll with a toilet and all i figure that will help i don't push her to potty because i don't want to make the potty her enemy! i also don't want to be a pushy parent i want her to be ready and i figure when the time comes, she'll let me know and it will be alot easier because she will want to potty instead of me making her potty and her hating it and never wanting to do it on her own

Do you have other little girls or other women in the house? Since there was a majority of women living in our house, each time one of the girls went to the bathroom they took the little one with them. Potty training in an instant. Boys we used a plastic soda bottle to teach them aim, LOL

One thing that seems to help, go to cloth diapers. They sell nice ones that are as easy to use as disposable ones. The disposable diapers are so efficient that when the child wets one, they don't really feel uncomfortible. With cloth diapers, when the child wets it, they want it to be changed right away becuase they dont wick the moister away as well. This can encourage children to poty train faster.

Whenshe is ready to be trained she will w/o ant problems. My grandaughter refused to go--------when she wanted to go to Nursery school we told her she couldn't go without being potty trained. In just a few days she was trained.

She's not ready and too young. Most Doctors say not to even try before kids are 2 years old.
