I had the IUD. Worked great with no side effects and nothing to worry about. It was the least hassle free option and was very effective. Had it in for 4 years.
Just took mine out though because we want to try for another baby.
Good luck to you!

I tried the plastic hormonal IUD caused my husband and I both pain. Had it taken out then I went on the depo shot for a year until I started getting intense migraines from it. That was a year ago now I'm 6 months pregnant with my 2nd son and will be having my tubes tied. And when we can afford it for added birth control my hubby is having a vasectomy. It does sound final, but I look at it this way my husband and I both only want 2 children.

I had the IUD for 10 years then had it replaced with the hormone one it is called the miriena. I plan to tie my tubes this time but if I didn't I would go back to the copper IUD. Loved mine. Never had a problem and it kept me regular. You can't beat the 99.9% effective rate and not having to take something or put something in and out just to protect against pregnancy. An IUD helped me plan for all my children. I have two children and my last is on the way.

I did the tubal. And, ...got pregnant anyway. For whatever reason, that pregnancy didn't "take" and I lost it, but it's not as final as they say it is.
I think the IUD is a good idea. My sister did that, and she really liked it, and when she had it removed, she was able to get pregnant pretty much right away (which is what she wanted).
The only side effects she had was that she gained some weight, which she didn't really appreciate, but other than that, she loved it.

Tubal.
I am 33 my husband is 47. He has 2 kids in college and I have 2 at home and SURPRISE (the best surprise of my life!) we now have one in diapers. ( I was on the patch ) We KNEW that we didnt want any more and even though a tubal is final that is what we decided on. Tuition for 2 kids per month is more than I make a month! Finances had a pretty big role in our decision. But it would be unfair to all of us if we had another baby.

Well, I'm still not done having children, so we use condoms and the charting method. I don't know what I'll do when I've had my last, maybe the IUD thing too.

I had my tubes tied. I know its final but I also know that kids are expensive and I just can't afford anymore. There have been women that have gotten pregnant after a tubal so I told myself that if I just happened to be one of those women then it was definitely meant to be.

I used condoms and birth control foam, then opted to get my tubes cut/burned after 2 years.

I think the IUD is a good choice my sis-n-law has that. I used Ortho Evra after my son and never had any problems with it.
