why do we tip the guy who takes the luggage to the conveyor belt?

isnt that like tipping the guy who seats you in a restraunt and not the waiter? The guy on the runway does all the work. Does he get any tips?

He's the guy who puts the destination label on your luggage - worth a couple of bucks to me for a little "insurance". Always make sure you know the destination code so you know your luggage is going to the right airport.

I don't tip the guy at the airport. I don't see the need. All he doesn is place it on the belt, like you've said.

My grandfather does tip, though. Maybe those guys will take the sky cap down to the runway and then unload it.

Traditionally, if you check your bags at the curb, you tip $1 per bag. More if generous. You dont need to tip anyone else at the airport!!! They get paid more than enough. It is for service only!!

do you mean the skycap or a a stranger comes up to and offers
to "take" your bags. if hes not in a uniform, dont give him your bags as he will take them alright but you wiill never see them again...
