If I claimed to be an atheist, common sense would tell me to stay away from any thing that dealt with religion. Maybe they just want to acknowledge that there is something to spiritual religious society.

It's hard to remember that even though atheists don't believe in a God, they still have opinions. I know, it's a shame... They should be hung by their nutsacks and drained of all bodily fluid while getting whipped with a cat o' nine tails by dancing midgets in straw hats in a torture chamber six miles below the surface of the earth, but dangit, those pesky atheists just have to have their say! bastards...

yes, jesus is dead (if it ever existed) According to the story... the romans gave him a damn good thrashing and torturing, then they empailed his battered body to a cross, why? for claiming he was the "son of a god" ! - what a liar. The romans certainly served justice that day... anyone claiming such a thing in the year 2006 will more than likely be sent to a psychiatric hospital (rather than tortured and killed)... can you see the connection?

Anyway when certain people and self proclaimed holy books claim such outlandish events actually took place, those who of us who dont believe in these old stories, feel that our intelligence is being insulted and we therefore have a right to comment on such matters... I hope that helps.

Lets say you are a xtian, then YOU are *conveniantly* an atheist of all the other religions... jewish, muslim etc ... a xtain just conveniantly goes along with the bible story because that is what culture they were born in to. Had you have been born and raised in Saudi Arabia, then you'd more than likely be a muslim...

Great question!

Many people who are jealous or adverse to a good thing, usually like to give it a bad name. They don't want anyone to like anything that they hate. Hate is just a reluctance to understand and tolerate someone or something.

If they speak badly or gossip about someone or something, they are trying to give a poor image of that person or thing. No matter how hard they try, they can never darken the image of Jesus...the Light of the world.

The scripture that describes this attitude is:
Proverbs 14
25 A truthful witness saves lives,
but a false witness is deceitful

Yahoo Answers doesn't have a place set aside for them. Atheism is not a religion nor does it hold to any type of spirituality. We have a place to go and they don't. They are ignored and in need of attention. They feel left out...kinda like they are going to feel on judgement day when most of the Christians will be going home to live with Jesus...they won't.

There are at least three possible answers.

1. Sport. (not me of course)

2. Just because I an agnostic doesn't mean that I don't knw the answers. I'm willing to bet that I know more about the history of Christianity than 95% of the Christians here.

3. Since many Christians are trying to ligislate their beliefs (e.g., the Kansas school board that tried to outlaw the teaching of evolution) we must be vigilant in protecting our rights.

Because he died a long time ago, and this jesus guy is considered a god of sorts. The christians bash on the atheists so much that they got tired of it and started fighting back.

Because it's a topic here! It does not state that one has to subscribe to any religion in order to discuss it.

LMAO So, you think that Jesus is still alive. Where is he? I am sure there are billions of people who would love to meet him. Do you have a picture?

Oh, I get it, you mean that his soul is with God. Most souls cross over, religion or Jesus have nothing to do with it.

Great question. I think they do it for the "shock" value. They answer with something so totally outrageous that it gets a rise out of the readers. I just ignore their crap and keep on reading. =)

Because of all the Atheists I know, they all know more about the bible than the Christians I know. They are very educated on the topic, which is why they are comfortable in their lack of belief in God.
