If you eat too much of anything it'll be fattening. Quaker oatmeal by itself isn't fattening, but the whole milk and sugar you put in it are DEFINITELY enemies to weight loss. Try cutting back to 2% milk, then 1% milk, then skim milk (switch every two weeks) and cut back on the sugar -- no sugar is best and using Splenda would be the next-best thing.

Quaker Oats is NOT fattening at all. In fact, oatmeal is healthy for you to eat. It's only about 120 calories.
Oatmeal only becomes fattening if you add in whole milk and sugar. Whole milk has fat in it and mixing it with sugar will give it a boost to more calories. Still though, it's not fattening. It's healthy for you. How about trying to cook the oatmeal with 1% milk or skim milk and adding honey instead of sugar, or you can add fruit to it like strawberries and blueberries, to make a delicious, healthy breakfast. You will not gain weight with oatmeal. Don't worry....it's not fattening. Just don't make it fattening by adding extras.

Eating too much of anything can put weight on. While oatmeal is good for your heart, I wouldn't go overboard eating it. It's a carb and carbs turn into sugar in the body. My Dad eats a lot of oatmeal and wonders why his blod sugars are up. I keep telling him it's the oatmeal. Know what a serving is and try not to go over it by too much and you'll be fine.

whole milk is fattening, oats aren't. Whole milk is a good fat, in my opinion. I think the sugar is what's bad as well. I sweeten oatmeal with mashed bananas and a few raisins. Also, I love oatmeal with a small dot of butter and half and half with and egg on the side...oats are great for your body, it's just what you put in it.

Good chance it is. Usually oatmeals with flavors have lots of suger and added stuff. Better to go with the oatmeal that's in the old circle tube that's instant! Then add fresh fruit or honey

Quaker Oatmeal is a one of those food items that has fat...but the good fat! Yes there is good fat! Just like Avocados, the fat in oatmeal help get the blood pumping and running to the brain properly! A writer from Psychology magazine once said that as a child she would eat oatmeal everyday before a spelling test to help her remember each word, and it never failed her. Did tghe oatmeal help? of course it did. A great source of fiber and fat, I recommend Oatmeal to fight against cardiovascular diseases as well as colon cancer!

It is less nutrition and higher in calories than the old fashioned kind. Which only takes about 10 minutes to prepare, anyway. Any all one food diet is a bad idea because of the lack of nutrients and the boredom factor.

The whole milk and sugar are your main source of calories. Read the side of the box to see how many calories in the oatmeal, then use low fat mlk and artificial sweetener or very little sugar.

Oatmeal is a great "diet" food. But sugar and milk are not a healthy combo. Try milk and honey.
