I would personally dye the top black and the ends blond. I think this way would look a lot better. I've seen a few women that dyed their hair this way and it looked pretty good to me. I would also try and get a professional to dye it the way you want if that's the way you really want it. You take a big risk of messing up the dye job on your hair if you try and do it yourself. If you really feel like you want to do it then go ahead and try it. There's always a first time for everything. You might just do a really good job.

Merry Christmas!!!

I agree, black hair colours do tend to have a slight purple tone to them.

What I would do is buy a dark brown colour (the colour will end up darker on your hair that the colour on the box, I know this from colouring my own hair at home since I was 16).

Also, be very careful you don't get any colour on the top layer that you want to keep blonde.

But I would say go for it. I have seen people with it done and I think it looks really cool. I wish I had the guts to do it!

Hope this helps.

well you can screw up black and I have!!! Black over blonde especially a platnum blone will turn a blue-ish black! I'd recommend going to a dark brown first then to black. That way there is already a dark base and it won't look blue or even purple! If you do decide to go that dark I would take a cheap brown dye and mix some of it into the black just to cut that blue a little. Trust me this happened like just a month ago...it wasn't pretty!

Yea. I was going to dye the bottom layers of hair brown and black. I've done it before. It should turn out great! I hope this little bit has helped! Good luck!

I went to Cosmetology school and at that time it was the 'in' thing to do to dye the under layer of your hair darker and I've seen alot of mishaps. My only advise is to be very careful so as not to get spots of it on your blonde or you'll look like a cheeta and also, black dye in most home color kits tends to look purple...its a gamble...good luck!

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO DYE YOUR HAIR BLACK. first of all, this will do GREAT damage to your hair, that may not be reversible. secondly, there are many alternatives since you want to keep the top hair blonde and the bottom hair black. you should look into hair extensions if you just want black hair 'under'. my hair is a very dark shade of brown and i have blonde extensions under my real hair. it looks very natural and it won't do any damage to my actual hair. there is no dye involved, but the price will reach deep into your pockets. it is well worth it, if you go to the right person.

black is black... the pigment will come out pretty much the same on everyone. You might need to leave it on a bit longer than say, someone with brown hair would.. but no.. you cant screw up black.

I know someone who tried to go from blonde to black and ended up purple. If you really care about your hair I would go professional for sure.

Good Luck!

Jet black hair. I have truly dark brown hair and I think dark hair looks better. I avoid really like blonde hair.
