Well, I think what's best is to try out all of them and see which one you like the best. However, I will give a little mini-review of the big 3, Opera, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer 7 - I haven't had that much time with this one, but it's a much better solution than its predecessor, IE6. Tabbed browsing is a standard now, and it is nice that Microsoft updated their browser to include it.

As for the interface, it's fair, though I think it could be a bit more intuitive. Since the menu bar is a standard on all programs, it should come enabled automatically on the program. It's also a little annoying to not be able to close unfocused tabs without right-clicking or focusing it and clicking the X.

Firefox - What I'm using right now. It's pretty nice. The standard interface is pretty intuitive, but the true niche comes from the Add-ons. There's hundreds of plug-ins that are created by users all over the world that can do many things. Some are simple, like one that shows the weather on the right hand side of the screen. Others are complex, like a mouse gesture that shows all of the open tabs; kind of an "Expose" of tabs.

Opera - Originally filled with ad-ware and the like, Opera is now completely free and safe to download. It's advertised as the "fastest web browser" and in my experience it is. Its claim to fame are the mouse gestures. For example, instead of going up the the back button, you simply click the right button and then the left, and the browser will go to the previous page. It gets annoying while you're still learning and you do something that you don't know does something accidentally, but after the learning curve, it becomes very easy. Also, as an answer to Firefox's add-ons, Opera has now created "Widgets" which do many things. While not as advanced as Firefox's plug-ins, there are some good ones out there.

So, my suggestion is that you try them all and see which one you like. The speed difference really isn't going to be that great, so it really should come down to your personal preference.

There isnt such a thing as "The Best" for anything, the same is true of browsers.
IE is quick at loading, but Firefox is quicker at loading pages, and Opera can be operated by simply talking, Niche has a tons of useful links and Refresh has the uhmm "refresh" feature which is very useful. Are you stuck with one "best" pair of shoes? Then you lose, same applies to browsers.

Firefox has a lot of extensions that I use. It has the best ad blocker (haven't seen an ad on a site in a long time) and it blocks flash ads too. Linkification is awesome as well.

FireFox, It is fairly stripped down and when it comes down to it, you can customize it very easily and the support forums are the best, if you have a problem, chances are the support forums will tell you how to solve it.
