Anyone know a website where I can find out about microprocessors/microcomputer hardware/architecture (CPUs, ALUs, registers, RAM, ROM, tristates etc.) from very simple stages.

Failing that, a book would be helpful (I have read the chapters on it in "The Art of Electronics", but something more on the hardware would be really helpful.

Thanks

You can become familiar with microcontrollers(uC) easily with a BASIC Stamp. This is a uC which is programmed in BASIC and is a good general starting point as it has wide support.
