WHAT BREED ARE THEY?
how old are they??
Adults??
something seems to be niggling at the back of my head like you are feeding them scraps and popcorn balls lol
ok here is what I would do.
throw the OL Roy in the garbage .its cheap I know, but its like giving them a vitamin and a ...popcorn ball.
go to THE STORE and spend your Wal'mart Christmas money ON ~IAMS~ DOG FOOD choose the body type
..... open the bag fill 3 bowls.
in the morning. Take them for a walk
REPEAT at 6 when you get home from work.
give them tons of water. do not give them any thing else...repeat daily.
soon you will see 3 frisky shiny dogs without the 50 piles of poop... the better the dog food the less poop in the yard...I
need to include .......
get a vet check for worms and geardia
so I dont go to yahoo hell...... lol GOOD LUCK !

I have a dog like this... The 80 pound dog needs 1-2 cups of food a day. The 120 and 130 pound dogs need 2-3 cups per day. It helps to feed them 1 cup twice a day. I recommend that you ask your vet. They should be able to tell you easily how much food and how many times a day.

This was a very nice thing for you to do. I admire you for posting this and reinforcing why we regulars are here (I have been a regular since I made this account in early December, and I am so glad to call this my regular section. Believe it or not, when I had my old account, I was a horse section regular and Top Contributor. I actually really disliked this section at that time because I was SO naive! I did not realize that the heated emotions that come from regulars in this section are actually for very good cause, and i was just blind. I got into a lot of arguments with a couple of regulars in the dog section because I thought they were being really hateful and immature. Turns out I was the hateful and immature one for retaliating toward posts that were not meant to be hateful. I learned a lot and felt horrible for the arguments I caused, and I canceled my old account to get a fresh start.) I created this account when i got my puppy. I needed some advice and I decided to give this section a shot. I am SO glad I did. I have found that the regulars here give such amazing and useful information, and I owe all of my dog food choices to them! I learned the truth about Iams and other main brand foods, which I used to think were good. I got my puppy Taste of the Wild, and I now have been sharing dog food info that I have learned from this site with others. I feed TOTW to our 2 puppies currently 3x per day (but the lunch portion is a small serving, about 1/2 cup...we will be eliminating the lunch portion soon and moving to 2x per day). Thanks for posting this! I am happy to be a dog section regular :) You guys are awesome, really. I appreciate you so much!

You should most definitely feed them all twice a day. How much depends on how much they weigh (the back of the food bag will tell you how many cups per dog). It's OK to feed them snacks and some times rawhides through the day. I feed my 4 month chesapeake bay two cups in the a.m. (around 7 when i leave for work) and feed him again around 5:30 (our dinner time). Have fun!!

First off what kind of dogs do you have, for example if you have labs that weigh 120 and 130 pounds they are severely overweight. If that is the case you are putting undue stress on their cardio, respiratory, not mention their skeletal systems. If they are a giant breed that weight is right. Put the food out twice for about 15 minutes, allow them to eat, water should always be available. Snack should only be given sparingly, as they are not as nutritionally complete as dog food. Cut their snacks back.

They should be fed 2 to 3 times a day. Take their daily ration of food and divide it into 2 or 3 feedings. If they gain weight cut back the portions slightly, if they lose too much, add a little to their feedings/. Dogs should not be fed their whole daily amount all at one time, especially large deep chested dogs. That can lead to bloat, which is life threatening.

Make sure you're feeding them healthy foods that don't contain corn, soy, wheat, or by-products. You'll pay more for the food, but your dogs will eat less because it has exactly what they needs as opposed to a bunch of fillers.
Some good foods....Wellness, Natural Balance, Canidae, Innova
Read the instructions on the bag for feeding. These are guidelines to be followed. If you're still not sure, you can always call your vet. They should be able to give you good advice over the phone,

ONCE A DAY! My family has been breeding dogs for over 15 years and thats all we have ever done. Snacks/Treats dont really matter. If you feed your dog too much it will become overweight and cause heart problems and joint problems. And I usually feed them at the end of the day. Usually i feed dry dog food with a can of alpo or some wet food mixed in.

I don't think it's the size that matters, but the age. Up until 1 year feed them 3 times a day, after that twice.

Dogs that big could probably eat a measured amout morning & night. Mine is about 55 lbs & up in age. I feed him one med size can of meat & about 2 cups of kibble which he will snack on when he needs. Of course the old boy is a bit spoiled & mooches at breakfast, dinner & supper from us. But he is not over weight & the vet says that is important for an older dog. At 13 he is doing pretty good. Deaf but health wise ok.
