Okay. So me and my sister discussed not getting a dog until we get an apartment that allows dogs. Our apartment complex does not allow pets. She went out that night and bought a dog, as if she forgot our whole conversation. Now she is not taking care of him. She won't take him out in the morning because she doesn't want to wake up early and because the land lord might see. half the time at night i take him out because she doesn't feel like it. So now he no longer poops outside. He poops in the hallway in the middle of the night. I guess he is on a new schedule. I do my best while working full time. She is currently working little jobs here and there.
I just don't know what to do. When i tell her he needs a new home, she says she doesn't want to talk about it. I also feel sorry for the poor dog. I don't know what to do. Tell her to get rid of him or I'll leave? im so confused.

Tell her what you wrote here. Then give her 24 hours to either change her behavior or find the dog a new home. After that, you find the dog a new home. If you don't want to do that, tell her you are giving your landlord your 30 day notice and move out.

Give her an ultimatum. Either she starts looking after the dog, or the dog goes. If she doesn't change her ways in three days, drop the dog off at the nearest animal shelter. Obviously she's not looking after it and obviously you can't. It would be better for the dog if it was in a home where its needs were being met.

Then sit your sister down and explain to her why her behavior isn't acceptable, especially towards a living creature that depends on her.

Remind her who is paying the majority of the bills, and if she doesn't like it, she can get out. She can't behave like a child when there are others depending on her. The dog can't complain about her behavior, so you need to.

I think you are on the right track. You remind her that you shouldn't have dogs in your apartment. You can be evicted if your landlord finds out. This is grounds that you broke the lease. Your sister sounds very selfish. She wanted a dog, but doesn't want the responsibility. She also doesn't seem to care much about your welfare considering you shouldn't have a dog were you live. I would tell her just what you said, the dog goes or you do!

Sounds as if your sister needs to mature a little bit. I would have to get rid of the dog. I know you feel sorry for the pup but you need a roof over your head and once the apt people find out about the dog-it's either gonna be u or Rover who's out. Good luck. Try and find friends or family who would take him.

Better do something fast before the landlord sees the dog and evictes you. Take him to a shelter or advertise him in the newspaper. Most newspapers have free ads. If your sister acts this way, I would seriously think about moving out, before she does something else where you might get evicted. Then it goes on your credit report and you will have a hard time renting again.

She definately isn't being very mature about the whole situation at all! No one should buy a pet if they're not able to look after it properly or their landlord forbids them. She needs to know that and also make her understand she and her dog will have to find another place to live if she doesn't get responsible and tend to her dog's needs (let alone dealing with the landlord's rules!) Your sister needs to grow up.

try talking to some friends and family see if someone you know can take the dog. Its sad to see this happen to pets. If you dont have any other option i would recommend taking the dog to a shelter for animals where it can be hopefully adopted by someone who wants her.

This is going to sound cruel but take the dog to the ASPCA you sister by not taking care of him his abusing him. You are also now in violation of your lease and could get an immediate lease violation and eviction. when you get evicted because of lease violations it is hard to get into an apartment or house again.
Good luck Happy Holidays

Don't you hate it when people want things and then won't take responsibility for them. You should just get rid of the dog. Your landlord can actually evict you for breaking the rules.

Just tell your sister that if she doesn't start caring for the dog immediately, you'll just take him to the animal shelter. And then, if she doesn't care for the dog, which she probably won't, stay true to your word and take it away!
