Im really scared :-( I'm 30 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me yesterday my blood pressure was alarmingly high and gave me some medication to control it, and told me to rest as much as possible but I was wondering, what else can I do to lower it down?

I'm not sure of any that reduce high blood pressyre in pregnancy; but drinking a lot of water and getting a lot of rest help. Also; I would try and cut out as much sodium as possible as it tends to raise blood pressure. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Don't worry. Just keep her under a doctor's care. Escalating blood pressure can cause some dangerous problems if not attended to by professionals. 100/90 is not dangerous, but she needs to see a physician on a regular basis. Make sure she does it.

Oh my dear Jackie, if you can get to the Health food store, and find steel cut oats, these need to be cooked for about 25 -30 min. I reheat them in the microwave, and have them for breakfast every morning. They would bring your B/P down , and be sure to cut the consumption of sodium( table salt ) that includes reading a lot of labels of prepared foods for sodium content. Avoid salt in all that you prepare for yourself at home. Best wishes for a healthy little baby, and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Whole grains, avoid anything white...eat lots of veggies, avoid sugar and salt. I say avoid because you'll go crazy if you cut it entirely...just cut back on those sweets. You should see it help within a week! Take good care of yourself and that sweet little baby!
