it depends on what your pup has done... I put mine in time out in her kennel for 5-10 mins, when she is biting me and say "no bite" now that she is a few months older we will play and i still have to tell her "no bite" but she is a lot better about it. As for jumping up on the couch or bed use a spray bottle filled with water. My puppy hates being sprayed she gets down as soon as she sees the bottle. Whatever you do DONT HIT!! your pup is too young and its not needed.

With my own dogs in a stern voice I say “who did THAT?” (because “no” wasn’t working anymore) and after a month they understood me. Now they know to stop whatever it is they are doing and I tell them to sit and stay (do not pet them). I’ll try to keep them sitting/laying until I feel they can move. Kind of like a time out. It gets the point across they did something to make me upset.

I found that shouting the word NO works like a charm, they do differentiate the tone of your voice and they want to please. Hitting a dog or puppy is not necessary and I think it is barbaric. Whenever the puppy does something like chewing on the wrong item, loud NO, stops him in his tracks. This method has worked with my three dogs and three cats.

Never scold a puppy. This WILL lead to behavioral problems later on. The trick is to redirect the nagative. For example, if your puppy chews on shoes, give him a rawhide bone instead and praise him when he starts to chew in it. He'll get the idea that it's good to chew on the bones instead of the shoes.

Say in a stern voice "no." He will come to associate that with your disapproval and will listen very well to "no". Make sure that when he is being good, you praise him.
Never hit him or he will become fearful.

tap gently on nose and speak firm but don't yell. use 1 word (no). soon the dog will learn u don't want him to do that. It takes a little time and patients but your dog will end up being your best friend.
