maybe try to let them get to know him and if that dose not work your boyfriend my be doing something you dont know

Always trust your dog's instincts! But he also could be jealous and protective. My Lab does not let anyone touch me or get close. Sometimes it is jealousy and sometimes it is a protective thing. My Lab only growls at my boyfriend when he touches me or is too close, other wise he will be very nice to him. If we plan on being close at a particular time I have to lock my dog in another room.

you dog is probably being over protective. my old dog used to get that way. if anyone huged me she would jump up on them. but it was only me, not my mom which was weird.
but he also might be sensing that your bf is Bad News. so make sure you let the dog know that it is unacceptable behavior, and at ANY sign of agression be sure you tell him "no" and make sure he listens, even if it means pushing him off your bf. make him lay down by you while your bf is sitting next to your on the couch. if it growls while laying there, tell him "no" again. eventually he will calm down to the point that he'll give up. but you have to keep at it over and over and over until he is calm.

Your dog is trying to protect you or its Jealousy. You must train you dog to like him like tell your bf to give him some food and stuff that way your dog will see him as a frd.
