These questions are probably design to test:
1. Your honesty.
2. Your potential to get upset or angry by a less than tactful customer, co-worker, or boss.
I would answer honestly, but also make sure to make yourself seem like a trustworthy, easy-going, hardworking, loyal, dependable, and other positive trait - employee.
You'd be surprised how many people answer too quickly and end up getting their applications shredded because they seem like horrible options to hire. Everything has a purpose on an application, just remember that.

There is no right or wrong answers to those questions (usually).
They are doing their best to predict who is a loon and who will be a stable worker.
Some of those questions also deal with your ability to solve problems creatively ... sic
How do you put an elephant in the fridge?
How do you put a giraffe in the fridge
If the King of the Jungle had a party who wouldn't be there ...
etc etc.
It's all mind games based on the inability to manage and understand people. In other words it's all herding cats.
best,

Sometimes they are trying to weed out the weirdos! Because some people don't know the best answer! However, if you don't give honest answers, you will be found out in the long run. You can't cover up a basic personality forever.
So it pays to answer honestly. Good luck if you are looking for a job!

Lets say they hire somebody and someone says something to them that offends them, that could make the person do something back that could make the company look bad and that's not a good impression for the boss

They are looking for people that may be trouble for the company. If you easily get offended by what others say, then you could spell lawsuit!

I think they're looking for a "well-rounded" person. Those tests will determine your personality and will deem if you can work well with others.
Happy Holidays. ^_^
