A couple of single ladies are going on a trip with my wife and I to San Fran and I was wondering if they had a good chance of meeting single straight guys and where they should go to increase there chances? Ages are early 30's

It amazes me reading answers that identify SF as having only gay residents. The population of SF is ~800,000 people. Most research figures I've seen specualte that maybe 15% of the overall population is homosexual. If you assume that because SF is more open and accepting of all sexual orientations and thus many from elsewhere relocate here, let's get crazy and unrealistically triple that number! We are still talking about more than 400,000 people in the city which do not identify as gay. And if you go beyond the city to the 7 million people in the Bay Area, many of which are often in SF for one reason or another, you are dealing with a significant dating pool of straight, single men.

While your odds of meeting a 30 something, single, straight man at the Gay Pride Parade may not be ideal, meeting someone at the local Starbucks or bookstore or any place else should be fine.

San Francisco has a pretty happening singles scene. It's not New York or London, but there will be lots of chances for meeting single straight guys. (You'll know if you've gone to a gay bar.)

There are endless possibilities, but one nice one is the Bubble Lounge, which serves excellent champagne-based mixed drinks and draws a nice professional crowd.

I would worry about myself if I were you, I lived there for two years and I have been told some of the places we used to go are not straight anymore. Best thing to do is take a bell hop into your confidence and ask him. Things change.

Pier 39 is a great place to walk around, shop, eat, and meet people. Stay away from the Castro district.
