I am an American and I believe I am a patriot, however I know my definition of being a patriot is unnacceptable to most people who call themselves patriots. I believe a patriot challenges their nation when it is wrong. I think 'My country right or wrong' is bull-you-know-what...

So I will say it plainly. People around the world are correct to perceive The USA as war-mongering and imperialistic. We have helped launched the beasts that are conquoring the world and will owe allegiance to no nation, the multi-national corporations.

These corporations are driven by profit and prosper by taking advantage of impoverished labor markets to enslave people for wages that cannot lift them out of their poverty. These multi-nationals receive aid from the US government to set up factories in nations we help to keep unstable so that the people of those nations remain vulnerable and easily exploited. We make it a condition to receive our federal dollars for infrastructure development to support multi-national industries in these impoverished nations that those nations do no enact labor or environmental protection laws and do not permit unionization to empower the workers to strike for better wages and safer working environments.

If I were given to believe in the existence of evil I would say that all of this is evil, so it is natural for many people all over the world to perceive the USA as evil. They are right to see us in a dark light and to fear us, and so it is natural that they may also hate us.

If we are god's 'chosen people' then god is backing the wrong team. I think it is ludicrous to believe we are god's chosen people. Every one of us in every nation and every holy place and every jail cell is a child of god, without exception. So to presume we have some divine right to exploit the rest of the world the way we do is unconsionable.

We have a responsibility to the rest of the world to take back control of our nation from the war-mongering capitalists that are abusing our tax dollars to enable our corporations to desert our nation and take away our jobs. We have a responsibility to assist nations everywhere to embrace human rights, yet we are losing our own rights in our own nation to a government that is out of our control.

So the answer to your question is yes and no. Yes many people in the world hate us because we act as if we are god's chosen people, and no, the world does not hate us because we are god's chosen people simply because it is not true, we are not god's chosen people.

Cheers!

Oh, better send me a tactical support team, being so truthful about our shameful nation has probably put me on a few people's lists for violent responses.

Wow..what an arrogant egotistical question. Written by the truly ignorant. First there is no god, get over it. Second people want to go to the US because they want a better life. Problem with USA is it's full of Americans! Oh well.
The world dislikes USA because they are tired of USA telling them how ,much better the USA is than their country. OK maybe to you, but to them their home is better. Everything is NOT based on how many useless toys you have in your house.
There is more to life.

Where do you get this crap from?!? Who ever claimed that Americans are God's chosen people?

It's the Jews that are known as God's chosen people, and even this title is inaccurate, because the real translation is more like "the people who have chosen God".

Thankfully you aren't American... we get enough bad press as it is.

First off last time I checked the ones referred to in the Bible as God's chosen people were the Israelites. Secondly maybe they hate us because we support God's chosen people. Third I think they are just jealous and that is why they hate us. America is very prosperous makes sense to hate us.

No, they dislike us because the rest of the world thinks that we're ALL idiotic, overly religious, Hummer-driving, NASCAR-watching, materialistic fuckwits, when in reality it's just the president and his followers.

Over half of America hates how things are going over here. Just remember that.

No. Israel is God's chosen people. Some people dislike us because we support Israel. I don't think the entire world hates America. If it did, so many people wouldn't be trying to become American citizens.

first of all, the rest of the world doesnt dislike us, some of the world does, and the places in the world where we are helping certain governments/regimens, they love us,,,,, some of the world is very power hungry, and unfortunately in many countries, they have allowed those who wish power to get in control,,,,,,, this happens all over, and only the common people have theirselves to blame, myself included,,,,,,,the meek need to stand up and fight, to inherit the world , and we best damn make sure to take everyone else along with us, to glory land, pay no attention to race, religion, birth , etc
