A DVD movie package. I'd get her 8 of her favorite chick flicks, a box of microwave popcorn, one of those cool plastic movie theatre style popcorn dishes, and arrange the whole thing so it's really cute. Maybe a cute throw blanket on the bottom of the package. That way she can have chick-flick marathons whenever she wants.
Good titles:
Beaches
Dirty Dancing
Steel Magnolias
Mystic Pizza
Sweet Home Alabama
Spanglish
The Man In The Moon
Armageddon
Jerry McGuire
The English Patient
Shakespeare in Love
Oh...and open all the movies for her. Opening them is such a pain in the butt.

She might really appreciate someone coming over to clean her house or cook a special dinner. Your mom might need a break from her routine. Take her out for a night on the town. Buy her an elegant meal and a bottle of champagne. Most moms don't get special treatment like that. She'll probably really enjoy it.

I bought my grandmother a mink coat off of Ebay for $120 (that includes shipping) and my mother in law a mink coat for $70.
They are going to pass out when they open it! And right now might be a good time, even if they don't get it in time for Christmas - trust me they will not care. Or maybe you could pay a little more to ship it faster.
Of course, they may be animal lovers. In that case you can get her a Gucci, Prada, coach or Fendi purse. They are the must haves for every season.

I think jewelry always makes a nice gift for mothers, especially mine anyway. Perhaps you could buy her a mother's ring with the birthstone of her kids and/or grandkids?

If you can't think of something nice to buy your own mother for $150, then buy her something for $50 and pocket the rest.

Something that she would never buy for herself. Mom's usually don't pamper themselves, get her a spa treatment someplace where she can be spoiled for a day. Any mom would love that!

2 Suggestions find out what she wants and go from there or just give her the money. I personally would just give my mom the money and she could do what she wanted with it.
